Volunteering Updates

In the lead up to Christmas we are looking to add to our active volunteers in the club, to help us cope with the large influx of new members since 1st October.

Results Round Up From Pontarddulais, Sutton Park & Cardiff

Tuesday 25th September were the Afan Nedd Tawe Secondary Schools cross country development races at Pontarddulais Secondary school with an excellent 338 pupils finishing the races. Pontarddulais did an excellent job hosting the event and it was great to see so many of the schools participating. Highlights included our first four runners home from Swansea Harriers athletes representing their school teams being:

U14, U16 & U18 Combined Events Entries Now Open for 21st October, don't miss the closing date of 10th October!

Sunday 21st October are the Welsh Athletics & Welsh Schools Combined Events Championships at the National Indoor Athletics Centre, Cardiff, CF23 6XD.
 
Do not miss the closing date of 12pm Wednesday 10th October.

Satellite Clubs For Year 4 & Below

Athletes must be in school year 5 and above to join Swansea Harriers. However there are a number of satellite clubs linked to us with partner organizations, that children can attend before progressing to the club. These sessions provide a grounding in fundamental running, jumping and throwing activities, making the transition to Swansea Harriers much smoother:
 

Results Round Up From Pembrey, Llanmadoc & Elsewhere

Saturday 22nd September were the Welsh Road Relay Championships held at a very wet Pembrey Country Park. It proved to be a successful championships as ever for the club, with teams entered in most age categories.
With the introductory groups having September off U11B Joseph Williams was our only competitor in the U11 race placing 26th.

Results Round Up From Swansea, Malaga & Elsewhere

Sunday 2nd September in testing wet and windy conditions, which certainly effected everyone’s times, were the Swansea Bay 10km, 5km, 3km and 1km races, as ever there was a great turnout from the club across all the race with many fine results.
In the 10km from almost 4,000 finishers our top 5 Men and Women were as follows:

The Clubs Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place at the Club Cafe, Ashleigh Road on Thursday 4th October 2018 at 7.45pm.
