2 New Club Records

Rachel Johncock

More club records were broken on Sunday this time in the Senior Women's 100m, nearly new member Rachel Johncock set a time of (11.77) in the 100m at the Loughborough International, the old record (12.1) had been held jointly by Lousie Sharps 1996 & Louise Whitehead 1998, Rachel did the double and also broke the 200m record of  (24.1) set in 1998 by Louise Whitehead with a time of (23.88).

There are a lot of results to catch up form the last 10 days not least a new club record set by Chris Gowell in the 1500m; Chris broke a club record that some thought may never be broken, Ian Hamer's time of (3.39.30) had stood since 1992 Chris took 1 one hundredth off it in Los Angeles, California USA in the USATF Oxy High Perform

Swansea Harriers Schools Trophy Match Friday 17th May

Friday 17th May is the annual Swansea Harriers Schools Trophy Match for school years, 7, 8 & 9. Only Morriston and Bishopston Schools had entered by the closing date.

Sainsbury's Active Kids Vouchers TOTALISER

Very many thanks to all  those of you who have donated vouchers to date, the club has already exceeded the 3000 vouchers mark! Swansea Harriers are collecting Sainsbury's Active Kids Vouchers. Vouchers can be handed in when you pay your Training fees.There is a box in the club cafe where they can be placed on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Vouchers can be accepted up until 22nd May. The more vouchers we collect the more or bigger the item of equipment we can obtain.

Off Track Fixtures Continue

With the track and field league, cup and championships season in full swing, don't forget that the the year round off track events still continue. There are 3 popular local events coming up over the next few weeks:

Tuesday 15th May sees the Swansea Bay 5k and U15 1 mile races at Blackpill you can enter in advance or on the night, click here for details.
