Awards Season

The awards season is now underway starting last Saturday with the Welsh Athletics annual awards held at Llandridnod Wells Mid Wales. There were a number of individuals who were recognized for the hard work and commitment over the last 12 months or in the case of meritorious awards 15 years! Very many congratulations to the following club members on their very much deserved accolades;

Phil Gooding – Meritorious award.
Judith Gooding – Meritorious award.
Neil Merry – Meritorious award.
Peter Roberts – Meritorious award.
Dave Jessett- Track & Field Official of the year
Rachel Johncock – Senior Female athlete of the year
Wynford Leyshon – Performance coach of the year.

Cross Country League Match 2 @ Bridgend for all age groups

Sunday 10th November sees round 2 of 5 of the Gwent League Cross Country at Newbridge Fields, Bridgend, CF31 4AH for all age groups from U11 to Masters.

Byron Mugford

It is with much sadness that we have learnt of the passing of Byron Mugford who joined Swansea Harriers a few years after its formation as a young under fifteen year old. Byron was a unique athlete in that he was an outstanding shot putter who also had  a rare turn of speed and competed in the sprint events to a high standard.

Welsh Athletics Run, Jump, Throw Coaching

Wednesday 23rd October sees the Welsh Athletics Run Jump Throw coaching initiative re commence for U13 & U15 athletes, these sessions are open to athletes from any club. You can download a booking form here Renewal Letter Year 6 Term 1 WA Run Jump Throw School Years 6 to 9.doc  

Results Round Up from Birmingham & Llamadoc

Saturday 12th October were the Senior National Mens 6 stage and Womens 4 stage Road Relay Championships at Sutton Park, Birmingham.

Volunteers Required in November & December

The club is very lucky to have a number of loyal and dedicated volunteers, without their support we wouldn't have all the opportunities for the athletes. It is absolutely essential for more parents, grandparents and others to come forward and offer their support if the club is to continue to thrive and survive, if you can only help a handful of times a year it makes a huge difference to the club.

Winter Fixtures Don't Miss Out

The Cross Country and Indoor Athletics season is just a few days away for all age groups please keep an eye on the fixtures page of this website on a regular basis as event details keep being added as and when they become available. Many events have closing dates and the first of these is for the Welsh U13 & U15 Indoor Combined Events Championships & U17 Open only a few days away.

Results Round Up from Cardiff

The weekend of the 5th & 6th October was the Cardiff Half Marathon and Welsh 1 Mile Road Races.

Results Round Up Swansea Bay 10K, 5K 3K & 1K Races

Sunday 22nd September saw the Swansea Bay 10k, 5K, 3K & 1K races and it was great to see so many distance runners from the club participating across all the age groups.
