Club Ballot for Virgin London Marathon

The deadline for the Swansea Harriers club ballot for the Virgin London Marathon 2018 is Friday 27th October.
The National Ballot and Good for Age places for VLM 2018 should have reached all eligible Swansea Harriers members this week.
Every year, Swansea Harriers is allocated 2 or 3 guaranteed places directly from VLM. We will be having the usual Club Ballot to decide who gets these places. Therefore to take part in the Club Ballot for London Marathon 2018 places, you need to have been a Swansea Harriers paid-up member since April 1st 2017.
We expect people who were eligible for Good For Age to have got in via that route. For others, you need to send Eamonn Kirk proof that you were rejected via the National Ballot this year. Also we ask that you can commit to the training and cost involved. (Swansea Harriers club members who got a Club Ballot place for 2017 are asked to sit out this year’s ballot.)
If you want your name in the Club Ballot, and you fit the above criteria, please contact Eamonn Kirk directly with proof of your National Ballot rejection by end of Friday 27th October. You can text me on 07751033977 or email at
Once we have a list of interested runners, there will be a draw of a hat, probably in mid-November. If your name comes up, you still have to pay for the race, but you'll have a guaranteed entry.
