Results Round Up From Aberavon, Eton, Stevenage, London, Cardiff & Porthcawl

Wednesday 3rd July was the Aberavon 5km road race series, four Swansea Harriers ran with 10th Gabrielius Stuokus (18.31); a fantastic win for Gemma Seaman in the women with (19.16); 21st David Lamb (19.28) and 5th woman Nina Brocklebank (22.01). Well done all, click here for the full results.
 
 
Saturday 6th July saw round 3 of 4 in Division 1 of the British Mens League at Eton. The team put in another great performance with most athletes doubling up for their club and team mates, to place 5th on the day and now sit a mid table 4th, giving themselves a more than fair chance of retaining their place in the division in match 4. Individual highlights at Eton included A String victories for Daniel Rothwell (9.23.57) 3000m Steeplechase; Leon Greenwood (21.40) 200m; Leon Greenwood, Ceirion Hopkins, Maximilian Heavans & Wyn Roberts (42.08) 4 x 100m and Thomas Walley (4.60m) Pole Vault. Saturday 6th July saw our Senior Women in round 2 of 3 in Division 1 of the UK Womens Athletics League at Stevenage. Just like the men great team spirit was shown to also place 4th, and after two rounds are also a solid mid table 5th with just the one fixture remaining, having the same scenario as the men to retain their division 1 status. Saturday 6th July saw the Night of 10,000m track races incorporating the British Championships and European Cup at Highgate London. Verity Ockenden set a lifetime best of (32.34.47) to finish 12th overall and 4th Britain; Sophie Harris placed 9th in the Womens C race in (35.17.18) and Alaw Beynon-Thomas 25th in (37.11.83). Saturday 6th July was the Welsh Schools U15, U17 & U20 Championships held at Cardiff. It was great to see almost sixty of our juniors out representing the school district teams. The U17 now have a nervous wait to see if they have done enough to impress the selectors and be selected for Wales in the British Schools International at Swansea on Saturday 20th July. Sunday 7th July was the Porthcawl 10km, the club had 6 runners with Joshua Griffiths recording another win, and another sub 30 time finishing in (29.55), he was followed across the line by 8th Matthew Rees (33.44); 12th Richard Copp (34.46); 18th John Moran (35.29) and 657th Ashley Ramsden (52.00).
