Results Round Up From Brecon, Swansea, Reading, Alloa & Awards

Saturday 18th March was the Welsh Schools National Cross Country Championships held at Brecon. It was great to see so many Swansea Harriers selected for their school district teams.
Individually the following sis of our members had superb runs to gain automatic Welsh National Vests this coming Saturday 25th March at Margam Park V England V Scotland V Ireland!! We hope you will all come along to cheer them on, race 1 is 12pm in front of Margam Castle:
BRONZE! Ashleigh Willis (Olchfa) Junior Girls.
SILVER! Eluned King (YG Gwyr) Middle Girls
7th Mollie Jones (Ysgol Bae Baglan) Middle Girls
SILVER! Nathan Jones (Bishopston) Middle Boys
BRONZE! Dominic Smith (Olchfa) Senior Boys
4th Elliot Lawrence (St Josephs) Senior Boys
 
Team wise the entire Middle Girls team that placed 3rd to win BRONZE were all from Swansea Harriers 3rd Eluned King (YG Gwyr); 7th Mollie Jones (Ysgol Bae Baglan); 14th Rebecca Martin (Pontarddulais); 18th Bronwen Stratton-Thomas (Olchfa); 21st Beth Thomas (Olchfa) and 32nd Sophie Davies (Olchfa).
 
In the other age categories athletes having excellent runs to break into the top 10 or the first Swansea Harrier home were:
Year 7G: 4th Ella Davies and 9th Tiffany Rees; Year 7B 52nd Samuel Davies; Year 8/9B: 12th Charlie Holland and SB: 10th Robin Harris.
 
 
Sunday 19th March Kris Jones won the Allo Half Marathon in (67.19). The same day at the Reading Half Marathon Dewi Griffiths was 3rd in an impressive (63.54).
 
Thursday 16th March at the annual Swansea City Council Sports Awards Osaze Aghedo won the prestigious Junior Sportsman of 2016 Award, very many congratulations to Osaze on this much deserved accolade for all his hard work and successes in 2016.

 

Saturday 18th March was the Swansea Trotters 5km Road Race where there was a win for new member Ben Pease in (15.57) we had a victory in the ladies too with Verity Ockenden crossing the line first in a time of (16.53). Very well done to everyone who ran, click here for the full results.
