Results Round Up From Cardiff, (Margam Park) & Elsewhere

Saturday 27th January were the Welsh Senior Indoor Athletics Championships held at Cardiff, incorporating a handful of junior championship events. There wasn’t a huge entry from the club nevertheless what we lacked in quantity we more than made for in quality! Our thanks to everyone who took part. Highlights included medal winning performances from:
GOLD SM Michael Wilson (8.38) 60m Hurdles; SW Mia Evans (8.86) 60m Hurdles; SW Sian Swanson (11.51m) Triple Jump; U15B Charlie Holland (2.04.43) 800m and U17W Charlotte Campion (10.49m) Triple Jump.
SILVER SM Jonathan Tobin (3.54.47) 1500m; SW Lauren Williams (58.00) 400m; SW Katie Phillips (10.07m) Triple Jump; U20M Michael Thompson (11.50m) Shot and U17W Jamie Holland (10.94m) Shot. 
BRONZE SM Jonathan Hopkins (3.56.49) 1500m; SM Ieuan Hosgood (3.81m) Pole Vault and SM Jack Spiller (10.92m) Triple Jump.
 
Sunday 28th January was round 5 of 6 in the West Glamorgan Cross Country League held at a very misty and muddy Margam Park, there are no available results to date, therefore the report will appear in the next weeks results round up.
 
Sunday 28th January was the Lliswery 8 Mile Road Race at Newport where Phil Matthews was the clubs sole representative, where he had a fantastic run to win the race in (40.21.25).
 
Meanwhile elsewhere all over the world . . . . In Vienna AUSTRIA U20M Joseph Brier runs (48.29) for 400m also in Vienna SW Laura Maddox (54.17); brand new member U13G Hannah Kinane runs (2.34.64) over 800m in Huddinge SWEEDEN; and SW Olivia Gwynn run (9.55.53) for 3000m in New York USA. Another brand new signing, one of the best multi eventers from the USA, SW Chari Hawkins jumps (5.69m) in the Long Jump and records an (8.55) over the 60m Hurdles at Lee Valley, London.
