Results Round Up From Cardiff, Sterling & Estonia

Sunday 11th September was the Cardiff 10K incorporating the Welsh 10K Road Race Championships and Welsh Inter Regional Championships and a Masters International. There were still quite a few Swansea Harriers in action but most are saving themselves for the Swansea Bay 10K this coming Sunday. However those present had lots of success. Highlights included winning the race as a whole was Danal Desta in a superb sub 30 performance and a lifetime best of (29.45) Danal has a little while to go before he’s eligibility for West Wales and Wales commences so missed out on contributing to the team scores. Danal was followed across the line by Joshua Griffiths (30.43) winning Welsh Championships SILVER, Chris Carpanini was 17th (31.59); Matthew Rees 22nd (32.20); Phil Matthews 31st  (32.35) making our top five men. In the ladies Kate Roberts had a great run to win Welsh Championships BRONZE in (36.07) and was followed across the line by Helen-Marie Davies who was also representing Welsh Masters in 332nd and a lifetime best of (41.53); Penny Kennedy 568th (45.40) also a lifetime best; and yet another lifetime best of (46.44) from Christine Webb in 642nd; with just the 4 ladies running we are bound to see at least double that next weekend representing the club. In addition to Phil Matthews representing Welsh Masters M55 Ifan Lloyd helped Wales to team victory in a time of (36.13). Meanwhile elsewhere . . . . Kristian Jones goes to 2nd in the club rankings for 10K to date running exceptionally to win the Scottish 10K Championships at Stirling slicing more than a minute of his personal best to finish in (30.24) and Raul Reismann was running even further afield in Tallinn ESTONIA to finish 4th in their 10K in a time of (37.16).
