Results Round Up From Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sheffield & Cardiff

The main highlight of the week was once again another well deserved Great Britain & Northern Ireland vest for Dewi Griffiths in the Great Edinburgh Cross Country International on Saturday 7th January, where he placed 14th against world class runners from the USA and European teams. Dewi was the 4th Britain home over the 8km course in a time of (25.21), the races were live on the BBC. Well done Dewi! Click here for the full results.
Three senior Men have all set lifetime bests over 3000m indoors this week; on Wednesday 4th January all the way up in Glasgow Kristian Jones came home 1st in (8.07.65) followed across the line by Jonathan Hopkins in 3rd (8.12.09). Sunday 8th January Jonathan Tobin won the 3000m in Sheffield (8.19.77); at the same meeting SW Elinor Kirk won the 1500m in (4.18.31). Very well done to all 4.
Sunday 8th January saw the Welsh Athletics Junior Open at Cardiff, in what was an extremely busy meeting, it was great to see over 100 juniors from the club in action. Highlights included overall top performances from:
U13B Joshua Aka (8.63) 60m & (11.22) 60m Hurdles & (4.40m) Long Jump; Zac Davies (2.41.24) 800m and Mat Gudgeon (5.58.34) 1500m.
U13G Sophie O’Brien (9.30) 60m; Nia Bailey-Jones (2.54.16) 800m; Freya Morgan (11.03) 60m Hurdles and Chloe Jones (6.63m) Shot.
U15B Kyle Rees (8.10) 60m; Charlie Holland (2.15.75) 800m & (4.80m) Long Jump; Iwan White (5.26.17) 1500m; Sam Petherbridge (10.23) 60m Hurdles and Noah Osborne (2.40m) Pole Vault.
U15G Georgia Wilson (8.82) 60m; Jamie Holland (2.51.67) 800m & (9.76m) Shot and Carys Poole (9.92) 60m Hurdles. 
U17M Eli Onyewu (7.36) 60m; Joshua Gray (2.26.54) 800m; Tomos Slade (8.53) 60m Hurdles; Ben Woodnut (3.10m) Pole Vault and Jack Spiller (5.33m) Long Jump.
