Results Round Up From Edinburgh, Margam and Cardiff

Saturday 13th January was the Great Edinburgh Cross Country International, Cari Hughes representing the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team again, had an incredible run to finish 4th and the first British athlete home, you may well have even seen Cari racing live on the BBC. Sunday 14th January was round 4 of 6 in the West Glamorgan cross country league held at  Eglwys Nunydd reservoir, Margam. The weather was dry and inevitably windy around the reservoir. There was another great turnout from our seniors and masters endurance runners, with another set of great results. Our first five men and women to finish were:
Men: having a great run for 1st was Guy Smith, who was followed across the finish line by; also breaking into the top 10 with top runs were 3rd Matthew Harvey; 6th James Dean; 7th Matthew Richards and Craig Jones placed 16th.
Women: another race with fantastic running and team packing at the front of the field; 2nd Claire Bunce; 3rd Hannah Munday; 4th Helen Marshall; 5th Sarah Worley and 10th Diane Brownhill!!

Sunday 14th January was the Cardiff Metropolitan University Indoor athletics new year indoor open meeting. Highlights included overall top performances in each age group and event from:
SM Oladele Bamisaye (7.27) 60m; Tyler Williams (23.04) 200m; Rhys Granville (2.01.78) 800m and Michael Wilson (8.61) 60m Hurdles.
SW Katie-Jane Priest (26.02) 200m; Donna Jones (61.26) 400m; Lucy Fligelstone (2.21.26) 800m; Vicky Jackson (4.58.15) 1500m and Sian Swanson (10.77m) Triple Jump.
U20M Tomos Slade (23.11) 200m & (8.20) 60m Hurdles & (6.39m) Long Jump and Michael Thompson (1.70m) High Jump & (11.40m) Shot. 
U20W Armani Williams (8.02) 60m; Hollie-May Allen (63.26) 400m and Mia Evans (9.01) 60m Hurdles. 
Incorporated into the meeting were some events of the Welsh Masters Championships where there were medals won by MM60+ Roderick Davies (29.84) 60m BRONZE & (4.80m) Long Jump BRONZE; MM50+ Paul Flynn (2.27.21) 800m GOLD and MM50+ Glyn Price (10.81) 60m Hurdles SILVER & (3.80m) Pole Vault GOLD.
