Results Round Up From Glynneath, Houilles France, Cardiff, Mountain Ash & Bolzano Italy

Time for a catch up on results of some annual events held over the Christmas and New Year holidays:
Wednesday 26th December was Glynneath Boxing Day 5 Mile Race – Glynneath. There was a fine win for Kristian Jones (23.56) in the Mens race who was followed home by an equally impressive 2nd placed Jonathan Hopkins (24.10), 4th Matthew Rees (25.42) all of whom had great runs to finish in the top 10 Men; next were 18th John Moran (28.39) and 30th Daniel Morgan (29.55) to complete our top 5 Men. In the womens race we had another 3 finishers in the top 10 with 5th Llinos Jones (32.51); 6th Luticia Thomas (33.12); 10th Gemma Seaman (34.20); they were followed home by 20th Megan Clements (35.59) & 27th Jenny Mcadie completing our top 5 in (37.34).
Also incorporated into the race are other categories for combined times such as father and son/daughter, mother and son/daughter, husband and wife, we don't have that breakdown of specific results as yet, however we know of at least two partnerships that have an anxious wait to see of they medaled or not; father & son Chris & Iwan White and Father & Daughter Anthony & Megan Clements, there may well be more but we will have to wait and see too! However our first 4 women home won the team race and are pictured above.
Sunday 30th December in the Corrida de Houilles 10km in France were the dynamic duo of Griffiths’ who ended the year in style as they ran to excellent performances in a high caliber men’s race, Dewi had an impressive time of (28:49) to finish 12th with Josh clocking a very quick (29:31) to finish 17th. Well done both.
Sunday 30th December was the annual “Old” Father Time Vets (35+) 5 Mile Race at Cardiff where we had just the 3 runners; first home was 17th Ifan Lloyd (28.52) followed by 28th Paul Flynn (30.47) and our sole female runner was Helen-Marie Davies who had a superb run for 3rd in (32.50). Monday 31st December were the traditional new years eve Nos Galan Road Races at Mountain Ash.
Kristian Jones was in action again and took yet another victory in the Elite Races on the 60th anniversary of the Nos Galan Races in a rapid time of (14.19) he was followed across the line by 27th Alex Price (16.16); 52nd Daniel Newton (17.24); 80th Patrick Jones (18.35) and 104th Kneath Philippart (19.22) to complete our top 5 Men. In the Womens race there was a superb 3rd for Caryl Jones (16.54); just behind in 4th was Alaw Beynon-Thomas (17.19) followed by 13th Rachel Davies (19.12); 16th Sharon Leech (19.41) and 18th Llinos Jones to complete our top 5 Women. Monday 31st December in Bolzano, Italy Elinor Kirk was in action and finished 13th at the BOclassic 5k Road Race in a time of 17:39.
