Results Round Up From Glynneath, Mountain Ash & Kenfig

A very happy new year to everyone at the club! Over the Christmas Holidays we hope you all had as great a Christmas as Kristian Jones who in two of the traditional road races at the Glyneath 5 Mile on Boxing Day and Nos Galan, Mountain Ash on New Years Eve, had two wins for himself and  two records!
 
At Glynneath it was a 1 to 6, filling all the top places for Swansea Harriers in the men! 1st Kristian Jones (23.50) which was an all time course record too – well done! Having equally impressive runs were, 2nd Jonathan Hopkins (24.25); 3rd Guy Smith (24.26); 4th Danal Desta (24.45); 5th Matthew Rees (25.34) and 6th Liam Lloyd (26.02). In the ladies, we had just the two runners, first home was Jemima Osborn 52nd (31.28) and Sian Phillips  was 168th (38.44). Very well done to them all, click here for the full results.
 
Nos Galan Road Races celebrates the life and achievements of Welsh runner Guto Nyth Brân. Founded in 1958 by local runner Bernard Baldwin, it is run over the 5km around Mountain Ash Town Centre every New Years Eve. Kristian Jones again broke another all time course record which was held by team mate Dewi Griffiths in a time of (14.11). Joshua Griffiths had a superb run too for 4th (14.23); following them home were 17th Matthew Rees (15.26); 58th Eamonn Kirk (17.09) and 66th Nick Mackay (17.34) to make our first 5 men home. In The ladies having great run for 6th female and 58th overall was Alaw Beynon-Thomas (17.20); 105th Jemima Osborn (18.54); 136th Helen-Marie Davies (19.53); 199th Christine Webb (22.37) and 212th Sian Phillips (23.33) making our first 5 ladies home. Sunday 1st January was the Prince Of Wales New years Day race at Kenfig, Kate Roberts was the clubs sole competitor and she had a great run to be the first lady home and 5th overall, well done Kate.
