Results Round Up From Grosetto ITALY, Carmarthen, Swansea, Haverfordwest, Bedford, Antwerp BELGIUM and Oxford

Sunday 23rd July saw Hannah Brier gain another Great Britain & Northern Ireland vest running the lead off leg in the 4 x 100m heat to help the team win the race and automatically qualify for the final in (44.50) at the European U23 athletics championships which were held in Grosetto, ITALY. Unfortunately Hannah had a minor injury and was unable to run in the final, but still picked up a BRONZE medal as part of the squad, very many congratulations to Hannah on this fine achievement in the heats. Thursday 27th July was the final Carmarthen Harriers throws only open meeting, where a small band of our throwers made the trip to Carmarthen, there were lots of good results with a few personal and seasonal bests thrown in! Well done to them all, click here for the full results.
 
Despite the rain forecast, it did not materialise on Saturday 29th July for the 4th and final round of the Welsh U17 U20 & Senior League at home in Swansea. It was a magnificent day for the club who won on the day, retained their place at the top of the league table, and retained their Welsh League Champions title!! Very many thanks to all the athletes who have represented the team over the 4 fixtures, our thanks to as ever the team managers, coaches and officials who all contributed to this win. Sunday 30th July was the annual U11, U13 & U15 Gerald Codd Trophy match held at Haverfordwest, the team managers had the largest undertaking trying to find athletes that were not on holiday! Despite our managers best efforts the home club Pembrokeshire Harriers made home advantage count and had a great win, and we were runners up. Our thanks to all those athletes that made the trip. U13G Freya Morgan (12.2) 70m Hurdles; Ella Davies (5.26.4) 1500m and Chloe Jones (8.06m) Shot.

Meanwhile elsewhere . . . . . . the weekend of the 29th & 30th July was the CAU Inter County Championships incorporating the Senior England Athletics Age Group Championships at Bedford; Daniel Beadsley progressed to 4th in the 100m semi final in (10.76) and 7th in his 200m heat (22.30); Risqat Fabunmi-Alade made it all the way to the final of the 200m placing 8th (24.92) and there was an excellent win for Verity Ockenden in the 5000m (16.36.91).  Saturday 29th July at Internationaal Antwerps Atletiekgala- Belgium in the 1500m A race set times of 2nd Guy Smith (3:46.40); 3rd Jonathan Tobin (3:46.99) and 7th Jack Gooch (3:49.03). U20M Dominic Smith sets a lifetime best over 1500m at Oxford BMC (4.02.05) on 29th July.
