Results Round Up from Linz Austria to Kenfig, Porthcawl

Thursday 31st January saw Alaw Beynon-Thomas travel with a select group of Welsh Athletes to the Linz Indoor Athletics Grand Prix in Austria, Alaw had a fantastic run to set a new personal best of (9.45.37) in the 3000m for 4th place, well done Alaw against some top class international opposition.

Saturday 2nd February was the British Universities cross country championships in Leeds, several club athletes were participating for their university teams. In the men's race the first 3 home for the club were Dewi Griffiths (Swansea University) in 26th (35.08) closely followed by Joshua Griffiths (Cardiff Metropolitan University) 29th (35.14) and Liam Lloyd (Leeds University) 61st (36.34). In the Women's race Sian Edwards (Swansea University) was 20th (27.21), Jemima Osborn (Cardiff University) 124th (30.38) and Elysia Pearson (Cardiff University) 184th (32.09), very well done to all those who took part, click here for the full results.

Sunday 3rd February was the Runnerslife Kenfig Nature Reserve Cross Country Race in a small field it was a one two for twins Marc & Lewys Hobbs with Marc Hobbs taking victory in (18.35) and Lewys Hobbs not far behind in (19.21), Daniel Gurmin was the 3rd Swansea Harriers athletes home in 4th place (20.50), very well done to all 3.

Sunday 3rd February was also the Welsh Athletics & Cardiff Met Indoor Athletics Grand Prix Series incorporating the South West England & Welsh Masters Championships. The main highlight on the day was a win for Lyndsey Maund in the Senior Women's Pole Vault (3.30m). Click here for the full results.
