Results Round Up From Liverpool, Florence ITALY, Gloucester & (Kenfig)

Saturday 25th November was round 3 of the British Cross Challenge series at Liverpool, which also incorporated the trials for the European Cross Country Championships. And also incorporated were the club team trails for the home nations for the European clubs cross country championships, unfortunately our senior men just lost out in a very close race, between Tonbridge (England) and Central AC (Scotland).
Individually there were some top draw performances, where all the UK’s most talented off track runners were taking part. Dewi Griffiths has another superb run for 4th and gain automatic selection for Great Britain & Northern Ireland, he was followed home by Kristian Jones in 24th; Marc Hobbs in 62nd; Jonathan Tobin in 97th; with Kieron White in 141st and James Dean in 161st to complete the team.
In the U20M Dominic Smith placed 36th and just 2 seconds behind in 39th was Elliot Lawrence. In the senior women Verity Ockenden had a great run for 11th with Caryl Jones in 22nd, Vicky Jackson was 90th and Jemima Osborn 137th. U20W Cari Hughes was our most successful runner on the day, having an incredible run for 3rd and will be joining Dewi in representing Great Britain & Northern Ireland in SLOVAKIA in December. U15G Ashleigh Willis ran well for 22nd. The club has now had a 4th athlete achieve a Commonwealth Games 2018 A standard in the Marathon! This time it was Elinor Kirk was ran an incredible (2.36.21) in Florence ITALY on Saturday 25th November to take her to 5th on the Welsh all time list. Many congratulations to Elinor and less hope she’s picked too for the Gold Coast, hopefully there will be 4 Swansea Harriers going in the Marathon: Josh, Dewi, Caryl & Elinor, wouldn’t that be fantastic?! Also in Florence was Matthew Rees who finished in 326th in a time of (2.58.42).
Sunday 26th November was the Gloucester 10K where Paul Tobin had a great run to finish 2nd in (31.47) and just behind in 4th was Ben Pease in (32.53).
Sunday 26th November was round 3 of 6 in the West Glamorgan Cross Country League held at a chilly Kenfig Nature Reserve. We are waiting for the results to be released, once they are we will publish them on the website.
