Results Round Up From Margam, Aberavon, Reading and New York USA

Saturday 25th March was the British Schools U15 & U17 and the Home Countries U20 & Seniors cross country internationals at Margam Park. The day was set off by the West Glamorgan V Dyfed Primary Schools Inter County match.
In hot weather more suitable for sprinters, it was great to see 5 Swansea Harriers gain much deserved international vests on their home patch:
U20M Elliot Lawrence (St Josephs) 24th.
U17M Nathan Jones (Bishopston) 12th.
U17W Eluned King (YG Gwyr) 16th.
U17W Mollie Jones (Ysgol Bae Baglan) 27th.
U15G Ashleigh Willis (Olchfa) 17th.
In the primary races we had 4 members selected in the boys; 9th Alfred Downing; 14th Morgan Willis; 16th Dafydd King and 22nd Matt Gudgeon. The Girls team consisted of 7 Swansea Harriers having a great run for 4th was Mai Davies; 9th Melissa Davies; 12th Kaitlyn Jones; 16th Olivia Mackey; 18th Annalise Cooper; 19th Caitlin Evans and 20th Daisy Bottrill.
Sunday 26th March was the 5th and final round of the ever popular West Glamorgan Cross Country League held at Aberavon Beach. The individual results are now out, however we need to wait for the team scores to see if our ladies and mens teams retained their place at the top of the leagues after round 4, fingers crossed!
Our first 5 men home were; having a fine victory 1st Matthew Rees; 9th Charles Walsh; 10th Paul Flynn; 12th Thomas Guest and 41st Mike Evans. In the ladies there was also a victory for 1st club stalwart Helen Marshall followed across the line by Penny Kennedy; Christine Webb; Sian Phillips and Kelly Gipson.  Matthew won the overall individual title and Helen has now won the league for a record 5 times in a row (6 titles in total) and extends her lead in the all time female race winners total (13 races), very many congratulations to them both! Thursday 23rd March Jac Hopkins runs (3.59.52) to finish 2nd over 1500m in the Stony Brook Senior Open in New York.

Full results are now available from the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday 19th March where in addition to Dewi Griffiths 3rd place in (63.54); Marc Hobbs was 29th in (69.57) and Matthew Harvey 78th in (74.01) and Vanessa Harrigan set a time of (1.53.00). Well done to all 4.
