Results Round Up From Pembrey and Cardiff and Funded Athletes

Sunday 20th November was the Pembrey Country Park 10 Mile multi terrain race, held in perfect weather conditions, the course was a very challenging loop around the park. Swansea Harriers had 9 runners and our first five home were 6th Eamonn Kirk, 15th Raul Reismann, 30th Charles Walsh, 43rd Kneath Philippart and 72nd Rob Falconer. Wednesday 16th November was the Cardiff Metropolitan University v University of Birmingham Indoor Athletics Match at Cardiff, where we had two athletes present Sian Swanson representing Cardiff finishing 2nd in the 60m A race (8.04) and 2nd in the Long Jump (5.15m). U13G Emily Jones ran in the 60m guest race and the guest Long Jump against the U17 to seniors! Emily set a PB of (10.98) for 6th place and a leap of (2.28m) for 12th in the Long Jump.

Over the last week or so British Athletics and Welsh Athletics have announced their lists of funded athletes for the next 12 month cycle and it was very pleasing to see 8 Swansea Harriers amongst them, most of whom have developed through the club as juniors too. Very many congratulations to them all as well as their past and present coaches:
