Results Round Up From Pembrey, Glasgow, Sheffield & Elsewhere

Saturday 22nd February were the Welsh Clubs Cross Country Championships for all age groups held at a windy Pembrey Country Park. Despite it being half term the club was still well represented across most age groups. Great team spirt was shown with plenty of individual and team medals won. Our scoring teams and medallists were;
 
U11G Team GOLD! With the quartet of individual GOLD for Libby Hale; 4th Chloe Hartley-Green; 9th Millie Pierce and 23rd Imogen Mcadie.
 
U11B an incomplete team with; 17th Kellan Heuberger; 34th Arwel Richards and 45th Finley Williams.
 
U13G Team 8th overall with; 19th Sophie Hartley-Green; 33rd Kaitlyn Jones; 39th Chloe Lewis & 48th Natalie Coughlan.
 
U13B Team 4th overall with; 13th Oliver Patterson; 28th Steffan Higgins; 37th Saul Otteson & 38th Ethan Jones.
 
U15G team 4th overall with; 17th Mai Davies; 20th Ella Davies; 24th Tiffany Rees & 26th Bethan Adams.
 
U15B Team SILVER with the quartet of; 5th Aled Tumelty who ran himself into an automatic selection spot for Welsh Schools London Mini Marathon team; 13th Charlie Harris; 19th Tom Attwood & 26th Dafydd King.
 
U17M an incomplete team with 33rd Miles Hill.
 
U17 & U20W team SILVER with the quartet of; individual SILVER for Ashleigh Willis who also ran herself into an automatic selection spot for Welsh Schools London Mini Marathon team; 15th Darcie Bass; 23rd Bronwen Stratton-Thomas & 24th Georgina Annett.
 
U20 Team GOLD! With the quartet of: individual GOLD for Dominic Smith; 12th Dafyd Jay; 13th Nathan Jones & 14th William Arnold.
 
SW an incomplete team with 10th Abigayle Goodrick-Latham
 
MW35 team SILVER with the trio of; individual SILVER for 7th Llinos Jones; 17th individual BRONZE for Helen Marie Davies and 28th Diane Brownhill.
 
SM team SILVER with the six scorers of; 4th Dewi Griffiths; 6th Marc Hobbs and MM35 individual GOLD; 10th Daniel Rothwell; 11th Paul Tobin; 12th Angus Maclean and MM35 Individual SILVER and 18th Morgan Davies.
 
MM45 team BRONZE with the trio of 84th Mike Gleeson; 113th Owen Davies & 121st Simon Brewer.
 
MM55 team GOLD with the trio of Ifan Lloyd & individual MM60 SILVER; Thomas Guest & individual MM50 GOLD and Steve Smith & individual MM50 SILVER!
 
 
 
The weekend of Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd February were the British Senior Indoor Championships at Glasgow, where the UKs most talented seniors were all competing;
 
SM Ben Paris ran a time of (22.02) in his 200m heat but did not contest the semi final; SM Joseph Brier progressed all the way to the 400m final winning an exceptional SILVER in (47.92)!; SM Jonathan Hopkins was 8th in the 3000m final (8.20.42) and our second medal came from SW Verity Ockenden with a SILVER in the 3000m (9.50.39)! SW Caryl Granville progressed all the way to the 60m Hurdles final placing 6th (8.55) and SW Carys Jones was 8th in the pole vault with (3.55m).
It was brilliant to see six Swansea Harriers competing with the very best, streamed live on the BBC! If it hadn't been for the cornavirus Joseph & Verity may well have been slected for Great Britain in the World Indoor Championships in China? The weekend of Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd February were the England (UK) U15 & U17 Indoor Athletics Championships at Sheffield. It was great to see six Swansea Harriers obtain the tough entry criteria and make the very long journey to compete against the UKs top juniors.
 
U17M Sam Petherbridge ran (7.41) for his 60m heat and progressed to the 200m semi final running (23.38); U17M William Trott won a superb individual SILVER in the pole vault with a height of (4.20m) and in the same event U17M Noah Osborne set a PB too of (3.95m). U15B Harry Newton & Dafydd King both cleared (2.51m) in the pole vault and U15G Sarah Lyons leaped (4.97m) for 7th in the long jump. Very well done to them all, click here for the full results.
