The weekend of Saturday 29th April to Monday 1st May was the British Universities Athletics Championships at Bedford where a number of our U20 & U23 athletes were representing their universities, highlights included a SILVER for Olivia Caesar in the 400m (54.11); GOLD for Jonathan Hopkins in the 3000m Steeplechase (8.39.42) and SILVER for Nicole Davenport in the Javelin (40.40m). Saturday 29th April was round 1 of 4 in the Welsh U11, U13 & U15 League at Carmarthen. The team got their Welsh League campaign off to a great start winning 5 of the 6 age group sections and runners up in the U11G and therefore sit at the top of the league table. It was great to see so many of the juniors out representing the club. Our thanks to all the athletes, officials and team managers who contributed to this great start. Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th April was the Somerset Schools Combined Events Championships at Street including 3 guest competitors from Swansea Harriers. U20M Michael Thompson scored 4855 points in the Decathlon setting personal bests in the Shot (11.09m), Discus (28.06m), Javelin (37.12m)
U15G Carys Poole scored 2753 points in the pentathlon setting personal bests in the Shot (9.11m), High Jump (1.42m), 800m (2.35.20) to win a superb SILVER!
U15G Jamie Holland scored 2396 points in the pentathlon setting personal bests in the Long Jump (4.47m), 800m (2.42.57).

Sunday 30th April was the Welsh 5K Road Race Championships held at Cardiff. There was a fantastic victory for Alaw Beynon-Thomas in the ladies race (16.58), there were just two other ladies from the club in the race; 279th Sian Phillips (22.58) and U20W Caitlin Llewellyn stepping up in distance from her usual 100m to place 852nd (30.32). In the mens we had 8 runners and our first 3 home were; having a fine run for 4th Jack Gooch (14.47); 10th Phil Matthews (15.20) and 11th Ian Harris (15.37). very well done to all those who ran, click here for the full results.
 
Sunday 30th April was round 1 of 3 in the U17 & U20 Youth Development League at Yate, the team had a really good result to finish 4th despite fielding a depleted team. Many thanks to all the athletes, officials and team managers who contributed to such a great results. Individually highlights included overall A string victories for:
U20M Callum Davies (10.81); Joseph Brier (22.47) 200m; Rhys Harris (15.31) 110m Hurdles; Osaze Aghedo (13.63m); Ieuan Hosgood (3.30m); Jordan Draisey, Thomas Arnold, Joe Crosby & Callum Davies (45.23) 4 x 100m; Jordan Draisey, Steffan Jones, Thomas Arnold & Joseph Brier (3.34.57) 4 x 400m and U17M Tomos Slade (13.52) 100m Hurdles. Sunday 30th April in the Birmingham 10K Verity Ockenden placed an excellent 6th in a time of (34.52)
 
Monday 1st May was the British Milers Club Grand Prix at Street where 6 Swansea Harriers were running, with 4 of the 6 setting lifetime bests. U13G Ella Davies (2.35.90) 800m; U13G Mai Davies (2.4.87) 800m PB; U20M Dominic Smith (4.05.05) 3000m PB: SM Matthew Richards (4.07.03) 3000m PB; U20M Elliot Lawrence (8.51.57) 3000m PB and U17M Nathan Jones (9.10.83) 3000m PB. Monday 1st May was the Carmarthen Mayors Road Races where we had just the two runners; 12th Raul Reismann (18.34) and 67th Mike Evans (22.20), well done both.
