Wednesday 12th June saw the clubs first team silverware of the track & field season won with the U11 & U13 team putting in a magnificent team effort to win the 3rd and final round of the triangular series at home in Swansea. Over 80 athletes were in action for the team and the rain held off too until the final relay. Our thanks to all the volunteers from all the clubs on the evening who made the event possible, it would not of happened without their support. Individually highlights included overall top performances in each event and age group from:

Wednesday 12th June saw round 4 of 5 in the Welsh Masters League for athletes aged over 35 held at Newport. There was another great showing from the team including a few coaches practicing what they preach all on top form as the role models they are! Highlights included:
MM50+ Robin Wood (28.5) 200m; MM60+ David Marginson (63.4) 400m; MM50+ Glyn Price (3.40m) Pole Vault & (16.47m) Hammer; MM45+ Steve Ingram (4.76m) Long Jump & (29.98m) Discus and MW70+ Daphne Marler (1.72m) Long Jump & (10.96m) Hammer. Thursday 13th June saw race 2 of 3 in the Paul Popham 5km series at Swansea. In a field of over 160 finishers it was great to see so many Swansea Harriers racing, our top five Men and Women home were:
Men: 3rd Craig Jones (17.05); 5th Marc Davies (17.15); 9th Stephen Taylor (17.41); 11th Ryan Govier (17.59) and 14th Sam Joseph (18.17).
Women: there was a great win for Abigayle Goodrick-Latham (18.22); followed home by 2nd Rachel Davies (19.18); 4th Luticia Thomas (19.42); 6th Llinos Jones (20.14) and 8th Penney Kenneddy.

Saturday 15th June was the 7.2 mile multi terrain Rabbit Run at Merthyr Mawr. Where we had three runners; John Moran had a great run for 3rd (53.25); 8th Thomas Guest (55.02) and Steve Smith 10th in (56.22).
 
The weekend of Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June saw the Welsh Junior Championships held at Wrexham. Not so many of our juniors entered and made the long journey north this year, however what we lacked in quantity we more than made for in quality with many medal winning performances all of which are below. Very well done to all those who took part gaining invaluable championship experience regardless of where they placed.

Sunday 16th June was the Speedway 10km at Chepstow, the club had four runners taking part; SM Joshua Griffiths had a great run to place 2nd in (30.12) followed home by 26th Matthew Rees (33.53) and in the womens race Alaw Beynon-Thomas equalled Joshua performance with 2nd too in (26.13) with 16th Luticia Thomas home in (41.21). Meanwhile elsewhere…………………. SM Matthew Rees runs (34.58) for the Chew Valley 10km on 9th June. SM Jonathan Hopkins runs an impressive (8.50.42) 3000m Steeplechase on 12th June in Bydgoszcz, Poland. SW Elinor Kirk runs (4.31.84) 1500m and (9.23.66) 3000m in the Trafford Grand Prix both on 18th June.
