Results Round Up From the UK U13 & U15 National Final @ Bedford

Saturday 3rd September saw the track & field season conclude with our U13 & U15 team achieving the fantastic accomplishment of reaching the UK Grand Final for the best U13 & U15 teams in the country. The team traveled up the night before and despite missing one or two key athletes due to unavailability or injury the teams still looked strong. On the day the weather was poor so only a handful of personal bests were set, where the team put in an excellent and very respectable collective effort to finish 6th against some really tough opposition. It was a great experience for all the athletes to be exposed not only to such a high level of competition but also different to the usual week in week out opposition in Wales. Our thanks and congratulations goes to all the athletes who were at Bedford and to all those who represented the club in the 4 league qualifying fixtures for their contributions to this awesome result. We thank them most weeks too, but never forget our team managers, coaches and officials who make all the success possible too. The juniors are now on a well earned rest, as the volunteers plan for next year for how they can try and qualify again and help the team challenge for a top three placing next year, which is certainly a performance goal that is achievable with a concentrated all round team effort., with the talented athletes and volunteers that we have within the club.

An individual A string victory was very difficult to come by with the level of opposition so tough, with just the four being achieved, therefore highlights this week would to point out anyone who finished in the top 3 in an A string!
