Blimey its tough at the top, on Saturday 2nd June was round 2 of 4 in the British Mens League Premier Division at Cardiff, in the clubs first ever season in the top flight of club athletics in the UK. Despite fielding a strong team, the squad placed 8th again against some exceptionally tough opposition, the silver lining being that it is great experience and development competing at this high level. Once again enormous credit must be given to the entire team on their efforts, with two matches to go they can still turn things around. Victories were hard to come by with Jonathan Tobin our only winning individual in the B 800m (1.54.49) and just the one top 3 placings in A string events came from: 2nd Glen Elsdon (14.98) in the 110m Hurdles. Our thanks to all those who took part. Click here for the full results and click here for the league table.

On Saturday 2nd June unfortunately it was equally tough for our Senior Women in the first round of the UK Womens League Premier Division at Eton in London, who like our men placed 8th despite their best efforts. Just like the men they also have two remaining fixtures to try and turn things around which we are sure they can do too with the team they have on paper if everyone is willing and available and field a full team. Individual highlights at Eton included top 3 placings in A string events for; 3rd Hannah Brier (11.65) 100m; 2nd Olivia Caesar (54.30) 400m; 3rd Izzy Parry-Jones (2.11.10) 800m; 3rd Lauren Williams (59.62) 400m Hurdles which once again beat her own all time U20W club record! Well done Lauren and our sole event winner 1st Mollie Courtney (13.57) 100m Hurdles. Well done to all those who were there representing their club.
