Results Welsh Schools Cross Country Championships

Saturday 25the February were the Welsh Schools Cross Country Championships at Brecon. Athletes were representing their school districts, and in the Junior & Middle age groups those that finished near the front will be hoping they have done enough to impress the Welsh School selectors for the British Schools International. Swansea Harriers had several athletes running most representing the Afan Nedd Tawe School District. Highlights on the day included a win for Liam Lloyd in the Senior Boys; a rare clean sweep of the medals in the Middle Boys for Jac Hopkins 1st, Connor Davies 2nd and Jonathan Tobin 3rd this also helped take the team to 2nd place with Deri Stewart (Neath Harriers), Ashley Hopkins and Joe Lingard making up the team of six; Aran Rees had an excellent run to win bronze in the junior boys; the Year 7 Boys won gold in the team title with 4 of the 6 scorers from Swansea Harriers Elliott Lawrence, Sam Martin, Josh Green and Jacob Seal (twins Luke and Ben Bartlett of Neath Harriers were the other 2 scorers); Olivia Gwynn won the Middle Girls title and helped the team to bronze medal position with the other scorers being Elin Davies, Iona Evans, Lara Philipart, Naomi Osborn and Kate Evans (unattached).
