Results Welsh U11 U13 & U15 League at Carmarthen

The weather was better for the cross country so far this year, in very windy and cold conditions at Carmarthen on 28th April the U11, U13 & U15 Junior team got off to a great start winning the match. 1st Swansea 695; 2nd Carmarthen 517; 3rd Pembrokeshire 444, 4th Neath 330 and 5th Bridgend 239. Very many thanks and congratulations to all those athletes who took part for the team, the team managers for all their phone calls and coordination on the day and to all the helpers and officials who helped judge the events a great all round team effort.

A few of the individual highlights on the day included in the U15G a league and club record for Hannah Brier in the 300m of 40.8 beating the old club record of 41.9 set by Bethan Thomas in 1991, Grade 1 performances of 12.0 in the 75m Hurdles by Jessica Merrick, 1.55m High Jump by Jessica Harry and 10.37m Shot by Emily Cockrill. In the U15B Miles Keller-Jenkins jumped 1.75m in the High Jump for a Grade 1 and U13G Rachel Jones had a Grade 1 in the discus of 22.39m.

A major area for improvement from all clubs is the number of officials and helpers;  in accordance to league rules,"Each club is requested to provide a team of field officials (3 or 4 in number) for each fixture as well as one track judge or one timekeeper. It was very disappointing that no clubs including this one fulfilled that request and that some clubs did not provide any help at all. ALL CLUBS need to ensure that every effort is made to remedy the situation for the remaining fixtures.
