Team Managers & Officials

As the outdoor season draws ever closer, the club committee are in the process of finalizing all the age group team managers and other volunteers for home and away matches and meeting directors for the home fixtures.

There are just a handful of positions that need to be filled, that we are looking for volunteers for please:

1. An officials secretary: The club has over 50 active officials, and we are looking for a volunteer to undertake the role of officials secretary for them. The role fundamentals are to ensure for all away league matches we provide, 1 track judge, 1 field judge and a team of 3 to 5 field judges. For home league, cup and championship matches to find 1 x starter, a chief track judge, a chief timekeeper, a chief field judge and then as many other officials to support them. You don't need to be an official to take on this role, just be a well organized person and have the time, to phone or text them all to help the club ensure it fulfills its officiating duties for all matches. If time allows it is a bonus if you can help them keep their UK Athletics Officials licenses up to date by reminding them to submit their log books of experiences and renew their DBS enhanced disclosure once every three years.

2. Junior Team Managers: The club has over 700 athletes, far too much for one person to team manage! We are looking for team managers for each age group and gender to spread the load. The only two teams that are currently team manager less are the U11G or U11B and U13G. The role needs a well organised volunteer that has the time to text and email athletes 10 to 14 days before each match to field full teams. The British Junior League is 2 per event, Welsh Junior League 6 per event and Triangular League unlimited entries.
