Welsh International Selections

The teams to represent Welsh Schools in the London Mini Marathon this weekend and the Welsh Senior Team for the Lougborough Track & Field International in May have been declared and Swansea Harriers are well represented.

Sunday 21st April is the 11th time that teams from Welsh Schools have attended this prestigious event held over the last three miles of the London Marathon course. It provides an opportunity for young athletes from Wales to test themselves against the best in Great Britain & Northern Ireland, competing against the other Celtic nations, the powerful English regions and athletes representing each of the London boroughs. Those Swansea athletes representing Welsh Schools are: U17M Jac Hopkins & Jonathan Tobin; U15B Aran Rees; U13B Elliot Lawrence; U17W Elin Davies & Olivia Gwynn. Congratulations and the very best of luck to them all.

Sunday 19th May the Loughborough International sees Wales compete against England, Scotland, Great Britain and Northern Ireland U20, Loughborough students and British University & Colleges Sport (BUCS), none of our male athletes have made team however the women are well represented;  100m & 4 x 100m Rachel Johncock; 3000m Alaw Beynon-Thomas; 400m Hurdles & 4 x 400m Caryl Granville; 4 x 100m Hannah Brier; 4 x 400m Laura Maddox. In addition there will be some guest race for Laura in the 400m, Hannah in the 100m and Toni Wells in the Hammer. Congratulations and the very best of luck to them all too.
