Results Round Up From the UK U13 & U15 National Final @ Bedford

Saturday 3rd September saw the track & field season conclude with our U13 & U15 team achieving the fantastic accomplishment of reaching the UK Grand Final for the best U13 & U15 teams in the country. The team traveled up the night before and despite missing one or two key athletes due to unavailability or injury the teams still looked strong.

Training End Of Season Break

Club nights for track and field are now finished as the season is over after this weekend at Bedford, and all our hard working volunteer coaches, officials, team managers and athletes have a much deserved break. Training will re commence at different times depending on what groups athletes are in, please contact your personal coach who can advise you of when to return.

Results Round Up From Brecon, Bedford, Llantwit Major & the Severn Bridge

Saturday 27th August saw the Welsh Inter Regional U15 to Senior Championships held at Brecon, in a great days athletics the West Region retained their title showing that West is best! The West Wales team were helped to the title by plenty of Swansea Harriers athletes, there were also a number of our members present representing the South, East & North regions.

Saturday 20th August was the Welsh 5km Road Race Championships at Bridgend for the U17 to Masters age groups, only five of our members entered however four of the five won a medal in their age group categories, very many congratulations to: GOLD: V55 Ifan Lloyd (17.31); SILVER: V45 Paul Fl

Results Round Up From Newport, Manchester & Grangemouth

The weekend of Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th August saw the Welsh Junior Championships held at sunny Newport, in what was a great weekend of competition, but considering we are Wales largest athletics club the number of entries from the juniors was average and the club will be expecting a better showing in future championships from them, the championships being in the middle of the school holidays didn’t help boost entries though.

Saturday 6th August saw our Senior Mens team promoted to Division 1 of the British Athletics Mens League at Nottingham, by finishing as league runners up to local rivals Cardiff. It was a great season for the squad showing what strength in depth we have across most of the events at this time.

Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st July saw the CAU Inter-County Championships incorporating the England Athletics Senior Championships at Bedford. The club has three athletes participating; many congratulations to Rachel Johncock who won GOLD in the SW 100m in a time of (11.37) unfortunately it won’t count as a club record as the following wind speed was illegal.
