End of season Club Records, Rankings and Gold Awards

The track and field outdoor season is now over, very many thanks and congratulations to all athletes who have represented the club this season in our 50th anniversary year. Below are the end of season club records, rankings and Gold Award Winners for 2012.

Results Round Up

Saturday 1st September saw Toni Wells taken to Templemore Ireland as part of a Welsh team to compete in the Athletics Ireland Throws Festival, where she had yet another 50m+ throw of (51.29m) to finish in 3rd place, well done Toni.

Manchester Just 21 Points!!

Saturday 1st September saw the culmination of the juniors season with their most important team event of the year. 84 athletes made the long journey to Manchesters Sport City and after an overnight stay in a hotel they once again put in a magnificent effort with many personal bests where they raised their game against the toughest opposition they have faced all year.

End of season training arrangements

Training has now finished for the track and field season and many of the clubs numerous training groups will be having their end of season breaks for varying periods of time. It is vitally important that you check with your lead coach when their training will restart as different coaches will have made different arrangements. Enjoy the off season and come back fully rested and refreshed for the winter cross country, road, indoor athletics and sportshall fixtures.

U11 & U13 Team Retain Triangular Series Title

Some of the U11 & U13 athletes who competed in the final match at Swansea celebrating their series victory.

Wednesday 22nd August was the 3rd and final fixture of the U11 & U13 Triangular Series against Llanelli and Neath at home in Swansea. In what was the closest run match of the series Swansea just managed to edge a victory over some very strong teams fielded by Llanelli and Neath to retain their title and win the Stan John memorial trophy.

Saturday 18th August our British Mens League Division 3 team put in their best performance of the season at home to finish an excellent 2nd and secure their place of 6th in the league.
