Congratulations to David Greene from everyone at Swansea Harriers for being elected as Captain of the Great Britain & Northern Ireland Athletics team for London 2012 Olympics!!! Results Welsh Schools Athletics Championships

Saturday 7th July were the Welsh Schools National Championships at Brecon. The rain held off just and there were many great results for athletes from the club most of whom were representing the Afan Nedd Tawe School district and a few Dyfed. Individually highlights on the day included medals for:

Mid Week Results Grass Roots to World Class including 1 new club & Welsh record.

Friday 6th July saw David Greene break his own club and Welsh record for 400m Hurdles in the Samsung Diamond League in Paris finishing 2nd to Javier Coulson of Peurto Rico.

West Glamorgan Primary Schools County Trial

Monday 2nd July was the West Glamorgan Primary Schools County Trial at Swansea University and it rained, rained and rained some more, fortunately all the field events and hurdle events were able to be held indoors.

30th June Results (UK Womens Premier League, British Mens League & Welsh Combined Event Championships)

Saturday 30th June saw the Senior Women in match 2 of 3 in their first ever season of Premiership athletics at Eton.

Llanelli V Neath V Swansea U11 & U13 Triangular Match 2 @ Llanelli

Wednesday 4th July sees the U11 & U13 athletes in action at Parc Y Scarlets against Llanelli & Neath in round 2 of 3 in the triangular series. We can enter unlimited athletes in each event, therefore it is an ideal opportunity for athletes to do any event(s) they wish. Just turn up on the day no later than 30 minutes before your first chosen event.

Results Round Up (Welsh Junior League, Olympic Trials update and Josh Griffiths)

Sunday 17th June new club member Joshua Griffiths was representing Wales in the International Karrimor Great Multi Terrain Race had a great run to win the Silver medal in the Junior Men's race over 10.25km in a time of 34.15. Elinor Kirk running for the senior women was 13th in 41.48.

UKA Olympic Trials Results

Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June were the UKA trials for the Olympic Games at Birmingham. The club had several athletes invited to compete at the highest possible level domestically and all performed exceptionally;
