A Swansea Harriers Christmas
We would like to wish all our athletes, volunteers and everyone else associated with the club a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Christmas Tracks Closure:
Both the indoor and outdoor tracks close after training on Thursday 22nd December 2022 and will reopen on the morning of Tuesday 3rd January 2023.
Christmas Kit:
We have plenty of club kit (rain jackets, hoody’s, crop tops, vests, t-shirts and beanies) available to purchase as Christmas presents, incognito every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the club cafe from 5pm to 7pm, up to and including Thursday 22nd December, exactly what every Swansea Harrier wishes for as their main Christmas present!
Christmas Thank You List:
The club has kept running for another whole year and this has been down to the hard work of all of our volunteers:
Thanks to all the coaches for making themselves available as much as possible in all weather conditions.
Thanks to the treasurer and the cafe team of mums, dads and grandparents who cover eight shifts a week between them, two a day Monday to Thursday to collect training fees, membership fees and kit sales on our new contactless cashless system and religiously turning up even if their own kids weren’t training.
Thanks to all our officials for supporting all our home and away fixtures, and also to all our team managers on and off track for getting squads out for on and off track league matches
Thanks to all of the club trustees/committee who have steered the club out of the Covid 19 Pandemic, much if not all of their very important work goes on unseen in the background.
Thanks to the University Track Staff too supporting us year round in competition & training.
Online Christmas Shopping & Fundraise for Swansea Harriers in the Process:
Swansea Harriers depends entirely on the fundraising efforts of our members to exist. We rely on a steady stream of smaller donations primarily via our membership fees and club cafe sales. These donations alone give us the assured income to help meet our operational costs. Additionally to keep participation costs to our members as affordable as possible, from all groups of the community, from grassroots introductory level through to international level, Swansea Harriers are registered online with three fundraising initiatives below, that we hope you will consider utilising to help raise further much needed income for the club. These funds can help ensure the club continues to grow its income to enable the sport on the ground to thrive and survive.
- Localgiving is a social enterprise providing online fundraising services to charities and community groups across the UK. The club registered with them in 2020 in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic that has had a huge hit on the club not only in terms of fundraising but also in terms of the number of volunteers that have been unable to support the club. You can donate directly to the club on this link.
