Good Luck Lewie Jones In The European U18 Championships

The very best of luck to Lewie Jones who is representing Great Britain & Northern Ireland in the European U18 Athletics Championships at Banská Bystrica, Slovakia this weekend, in the Javelin throw. It is a rare honour for our Juniors to pick up Great Britain & Northern Ireland vests and is richly deserved after all his hard work to qualify!

The European Athletics U18 Championships is a biennial competition for European athletes under the age of 18 in the year of competition. The European Athletics U18 Championships was created to promote higher-level competition among the most talented members of this age group in Europe and provide a stepping stone to the U20 age group.

You can see on the image below Lewie is up against some very useful opponents, but is more than capable himself of making the final. His qualifying pool is on Thursday 18th July in the afternoon session, and the final on Saturday 20th July afternoon session, we’ll all be watching!
