Vote For Swansea Harriers Next Time You Shop At TESCOS

Swansea Harriers are delighted to have made the final three in the customer vote for a Tesco Stronger Starts. It’s a scheme which gives community projects or organisations for children like us grants of up to £1,500. Tesco customers will now vote in all ten Swansea stores (listed below) during October 2024 to January 2025 to decide how much funding we get, so please support us next time you shop at Tesco!

The project with the highest number of votes across our region will receive £1,500 (or the amount that was requested up to this value), the second placed project £1,000 (or the amount that was requested up to this value), and the third placed project £500. The money raised will go towards growing the coaching team for our U11 & U13 beginners groups and additional equipment to cater for the huge influx of additional children that have joined the club this September.

Customers will cast their vote using a blue token given to them at the check-out each time they shop. Tesco’s Stronger Starts – previously known as Tesco Community Grants – has already provided over £110 million to more than 60,000 projects across Britain. This £5m Stronger Starts grant programme, delivered in partnership with Groundwork UK, helps schools and children’s groups provide nutritious food and healthy activities that support young people’s physical health and mental wellbeing, such as breakfast clubs or snacks, and sports equipment for after school clubs.
