British Cross Challenge 5 & UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships @ Nottingham
UK CAU INTER COUNTIES CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025

West Wales will again be fielding teams in the UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships which are incorporated into the 5th and final round of the British Cross Challenge series.
AGE GROUPS & TEAM SIZES:
In the Junior age groups U13, U15, U17 & U20 each County/District is invited to enter up to 12 athletes per event with 8 to run and 4 only to score for team awards, with the exception of the Senior Men and Senior Women’s races, which shall be 15 to enter, with 9 to run and 6 to score for the team.
AWARDS:
UK County Athletic Union Championship Plaques will be awarded to the first three individuals to finish and Medals to the four scoring members of the first three teams to finish, excepting for the Senior Men and Senior Women’s races which shall be the six scoring team members.
AGE GROUPS:
U13 = School Years 7&8
U15 = School Years 9&10
U17 = School Years 11&12
U20 = School Years 13&14
Seniors & Masters
SELECTION:
For the U20 and Seniors teams there will be no selection criteria, instead expressions of interest of representing West Wales should be emailed to the lead team manager no later than Tuesday 7th January 2025. For U13, U15 & U17 teams the first six West Wales eligible athletes to finish at Newtown back on Saturday 16th November 2024 will receive automatic selection. U13 U15 & U17 athletes who finished outside of the top six places at Newtown that wish to be considered for selection to fill the remaining 2 team places should email the team leader, again by no later than Tuesday 7th January 2025.
CLOSING DATE:
Entries close on 7th February 2025. Entries can only be made by the team manager and West Wales will pay the entry fee for you.

ELIGIBILITY:
To participate for West Wales championships all athletes must be registered to their club & Welsh Athletics, in addition must have one of the following qualifications:
A – Birth; the athlete having been born in West Wales (Dyfed or West Glamorgan).
B – Residence; a minimum of 9 months continuous residence in West Wales immediately prior to this event.
COURSE MAP & TIMETABLE:
We are awaiting the course map and timetable, once received they will be posted in the new year.
