Somerset Combined Events & Race Walking Championships @ Yeovil
Enrty Form & Details The 2025 Somerset Combined Events and Race Walking Championships which will be organised by the Somerset Schools’ AA and the Somerset County AA. (Level 2 UKA Licence to be confirmed.)
The Championships will be held at THE BILL WHISTLECROFT ATHLETICS ARENA, YEOVIL, BA21 3DS on Saturday 26 April and Sunday 27 April. The Under-13 Boys’ Quadrathlon and the Junior Boys’ (Under-15) Pentathlon will take place on the Saturday, with the Under-13 Girls’ Quadrathlon and the Junior Girls’ (Under-15) Pentathlon taking place on the Sunday. All the Race Walks (entry fee = £1.00) will take place on the Sunday.
NB: Entries in the Quadrathlons and Pentathlons have declined markedly since the pandemic so schools/clubs may now enter more than 4 athletes in each age group. If the total entry in an age group becomes greater than 45, however, it may become necessary to accept a maximum of 4 athletes with any additional entries placed on a reserve list.
The meeting will commence at 10.30am on each day, and a detailed timetable will be sent to all competing schools and clubs once entries have closed and the programme has been compiled. Full details will appear on the SSAA website.
The age groups basically correspond to school years, and these are:
Year 7 (Under-13 on 1.9.25) – Under-13 Boys and Under-13 Girls (Quadrathlon).
Years 8 and 9 (Under-15 on 1.9.25) – Junior Boys and Junior Girls (Pentathlon).
Years 10 and 11 (Under-17 on 1.9.25) – Intermediate Boys (Octathlon) and Intermediate Girls (Heptathlon).
Years 12 and 13 (Under-19 on 1.9.25) – Senior Boys (Decathlon) and Senior Girls (Heptathlon). (Inc. U-20s on 31-12-25).
(NB: Under-18 Decathlon and Heptathlon competitions will be offered for athletes born in 2008 or 2009.)
Senior Men (Decathlon) and Senior Women (Heptathlon).
Light refreshments will be available but athletes may wish to bring their own packed food and hot/cold drinks.
The meeting will be used as part of the selection process for the Somerset Schools’ AA team for the
South-West Regional Combined Events and Race Walking Championships
to be held at The Bill Whistlecroft Athletics Arena, Yeovil, on Saturday/Sunday 28/29 June.
