Sunday 14th January Steffan Jones runs a 22.89 for 200m in Amherst, Massachusetts, USA, well done Steffan!
Saturday 20th January was the British Cross Challenge Series Race 4 of 5, incorporating the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Trial and the Home Countries U17 U20 & Senior International at Parliament Hill London. U17W Sophie Hartley-Green was our sole runner, but it was fantastic to see her get her first International Vest for Wales coming home in 22nd place, congratulations Sophie!
Saturday 20th January Carys Jones vaults a best height of 3.81m in the Pole Vault at Sport City, Manchester, well done Carys!
Saturday 20th January was the West Wales Indoor Championships for Pole Vault, High Jump, Long Jump & Triple Jump at Swansea. Again there was fantastic entry of over 100 athletes for this home match, setting numerous, personal and seasons bests as well as coming away with over 100 medals. We are also thankful for having plenty of volunteer officials from the club and parents to ensure a successful day was held. Our overall top performer in each age group and event were:

Sunday 21st January in the Santa Pola, Alicante, Spain Half Marathon where we had two runners both recording very quick times, Dewi Griffiths was 8th in 64.15 and Joshua Griffiths 20th in 67.44, well done both!
Sunday 21st January was the Non Thomas Open Indoor Athletics Grand Prix in Cardiff where several of our older juniors and seniors were in action, and it was a very successful meeting indeed as it included a Welsh Indoor Record and Welsh All Comers record!! Our best performer in each event were:
Men: Marek Warzocha 7.21 60m & 23.05 200m; Glyn Price 3.75m Pole Vault; Joseph Beresford 38.23 300m.
Women: Lauryn Davey 9.03 60m Hurdles; Stefani Karekla 8.23 60m & 200m 27.72; Libby Hale 4.26.91 1500m, Libby’s time not only beat the U17 Welsh Record of 4.30.42 set in 2013 but also the U20 record of 4.27.66 set in 2006, many congratulations Libby!; Hannah Brier 38.74 300m which was a Welsh All Comers record (can be set by any athlete provided it is achieved in competition within Wales), which smashed the previous record of 40.01 set back in 2010, congratulations Hannah!
Sunday 21st January was the Lliswerry 8 Mile Road Race at very wet and windy Newport. We had three of our Senior Men running where Jonathan Butler had a superb run to win the race in 39.34! Breaking into the top 10 in 7th place was Matthew Verran 43.06 and following them home was 52nd Gabrielius Stuokus in 48.17, well done all!
