Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Manchester, Neath, Princeton New Jersey USA, Nassau Bahamas, Birmingham and Cardiff.
Saturday 4th to Monday 6th May was the British Universities Athletics Championships at Manchester where many of our U23 & Senior athletes were out representing their University teams including: Eli Onyewu & William Hawker who both got to the 100m semi final in 10.81 & 10.92 respectively, Kelvin Tannor 11.29 100m heats, Youseff Rabhi 22.95 200m heats, Darcie Bass who got to the 800m semi final with a PB of 2.17.28, Bronwen Stratton-Thomas who was 10th in the 5000m with 8.13.55, Joseph Beresford ran in the 4 x 400m heats, Lauryn Davey 4th in her 100m Hurdles heat with 14.52 and a 39.97m Javelin PB for 9th in the final, Jack Houghton 3rd in his 400m Hurdles heat in 57.46, Luisa von Schnitzler who was 11th in her Long Jump pool with 4.49m & 13th in her Triple Jump pool with 9.77m and Gwenllian Lewis got to the Shot final with 10.88m, well done everyone on such a great set of results.
Saturday 4th May was round 2 of 3 in the Welsh U11 U13 & U15 League Match at Neath. For our juniors it was their first match that was not cold, wet and windy this season which resulted in plenty of personal bests. Thank you to all the volunteers from all clubs and the officials and team managers for making the event possible. It was another win for the team making it two out of two amassing over 1000 points. Very well done to all our athletes who took part, here are our top individuals in each event, age group and gender.

Saturday 4th May Steffan Jones runs a 48.90 over 400m in Princeton, New Jersey, USA, well done Steffan!
Sunday 5th May in the early hours whilst we were all asleep Joseph Brier had an awesome run in the 4 x 400m Mens final in the World Athletics Relays at Nassau in the Bahamas on 3rd leg helping the team to 6th place in 3.02.62 therefore ensuring they qualify for the is summers Olympic Games in Paris France! Joseph is one of our Hall Of Fame athletes who has had numerous International vests including the 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2022 European Championships, 2021 Olympic Games and 2022 & 2023 World Athletics Championships, and we hope we will be adding the 2024 Olympics to this too!
Sunday 5th May at the Birmingham 10km Helen-Marie Davies was representing Welsh Masters in the W45+ category of the British Masters International. Helen had a great run to be the first Welsh athlete home coming 8th in her age group in a time of 41.51, well done Helen on your international call up!
Sunday 5th May was the Cardiff 5km incorporating Welsh 5km Road Championships where Dewi Griffiths secured another Welsh title to add to his collection coming home in 14.03, Jonathan Butler had a great run too for 7th in 14.38 followed by 31st Matthew Verran 15.11, 33rd Dafydd Jay 15.10 and 172nd Steven Taylor 17.20 making our top 5 Men. In the Womens race top 5 were Millie Gold was first home in 17th 17.26 followed by 18th Gemma Tutton 17.21, 35th Hollie Lewis 18.25, 54th Ella Davies 19.18 and 67th Llinos Jones.
