Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Oxford x 2, Bristol, Cardiff, Brussels Belgium, Yate, Manchester x 2, Halle Germany and Loughborough.

Saturday 18th May U23M Ryan Price jumps a 5.52m Long Jump and 11.87m Triple Jump, representing Oxford University V Cambridge University in the 149th Varsity match at Oxford, well done Ryan!

Sunday 19th May Mark Tobin ran a 83.02 in the Bristol Half Marathon to place 61st and Hollie-May Allen finished in 2.24.00, well done both!

Wednesday 22nd May was the SSAFA 5km series round 1 at Cardiff, where our first runner home having a great run to finish 2nd was Domonic Smith 14.51, followed by 8th Matthew Verran 15.36, 9th Marc Hobbs 15.41, 10th Matthew Harvey 15.43 and 13th Morgan James 15.48 closing out our top 5 Men home. In the Women Millie Gold took a fine win in 17.08 followed across the line by Kate Roberts coming home in a time of 17.10 to step onto the podium too for 3rd overall. Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th May at the World Athletics Continental Tour Grand Prix at Brussels, Belgium William Hawker runs a PB of 22.41 for the 200m and 10.93 in the 100m, Joseph Brier ran a season’s best 46.63 for 4th in his 400m race and Hannah Brier ran a 23.99 for 3rd in the 200m and 53.09 in the 400m, congratulations all on such great performances against some exceptionally tough opposition!

Saturday 25th May at the British Milers Club Grand Prix at Manchester three super fast personal bests were set by U23M Dafydd Jones who placed 11th in the 5000m A race with 14.01.59, U17W Libby Hale won her 1500m C race in 4.24.43 and U20W Hannah Kinane won the 1500m D race in 4.29.04, well done everyone!

Sunday 26th May M80 Ian Bowles competed in the British Masters throws Pentathlon at Horspath, Oxford where he came home with the BRONZE medal after a 24.88m Hammer, 7.70m Shot, 19.07m Discus, 12.19m Javelin & 10.15m Weight throw, well done Ian!

Sunday 26th May our U17 & U20 Youth Development League team competed in Round 2 of 3 South/West Premiership at Yate where the team put in another fantastic team effort to place 3rd on the day and retain their spot of 3rd in the league table. Thank you to all the athletes, team managers, coaches and officials who were part of this great performance. Individual highlights included top 3 A string placings for.

Sunday 26th May at the Manchester 10km Dewi Griffiths has a great run to smash his personal best to come home in 10th with a 28.20, cementing his place as the 4th fastest Welshman of all time and Joshua Morgan 83rd in 34.07, congratulations both!

Sunday 26th May U20M Lewie Jones throws the Javelin over 60m yet again in Halle Germany with a 62.87m on the 700g in his quest to achieve 68m the standard for the European Junior Championships later this season, we are sure he will get there, well done Lewie!

Monday 27th May at Loughborough Wales fielded a team in the Ron Pickering Memorial meeting where U20W Lucy Harris picked up another Welsh vest throwing 42.86m in the Discus to place 6th, well done Lucy!
