Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Gothenburg Sweden, Gloucester, Birmingham, Derby and Magor, including another all time club record!

Saturday 20th July Hannah Kinane breaks her own U20W all time club record yet again in the 800m recording a time of 2.07.02 at Gothenburg Sweden, many congratulations Hannah!

Wednesday 24th July U20M Joseph Beresford runs a 58.77 for 400m Hurdles at the Gloucester Open Meeting, well done Joseph!

Friday 26th to Sunday 28th July was the England Athletics U15 & U17 Championships at Bedford. Three Swansea Harriers athletes attained the entry standards and entered the championships against the best juniors in the UK. U17W Millie Gold had a great run to come away with a SILVER medal in the 1500m Steeplechase crossing the line in 5.02.74!! U17W Libby Hale went one better coming away with the GOLD in the 1500m flat recording a 4.26.78!! U15G Freya Birt was equal 12th in the Pole Vault with a best of 2.61m. Well done all on such a great set of results!

Friday 26th to Sunday 28th July saw our Masters athletes in action again, this time in the British Championships at a hot and sunny Derby, following on from the Welsh Championships last week. There were five of our masters competing and here’s how they all got on. M80 Ian Bowles came home with four medals, winning Shot GOLD in 8.42m & Discus GOLD 24.41m & Hammer SILVER 25.56m & Weight Throw SILVER 11.04m, M65 Chris Pruski threw 27.51m in the Javelin to place 6th, W40 Isobel Dawson was 9th in the 1500m with a time of 5.45.76 6th 800m 2.50.67 and 4th 18.06m Javelin, M65 Roderick Davies was 11th in the 100m in 15.91 and 10th with 33.25 in the 200m, W75 Daphne Marler was our only other medallist who came away with BRONZE in the Hammer with 13.22m, well done everyone on such a cracking set of results!

Saturday 27th July was the Magor 10km where we had two finishers M35 Geraint Williams finished in 6th with a 33.52 and U23W Megan Williams had a great run to step onto the podium for SILVER in a fast time of 37.25, well done both!
