Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Peterborough, Amsterdam Netherlands, Cwmtawe, Snowdonia, Taipei Taiwan and Aberavon.

Sunday 13th October Michael Kallenberg runs an excellent 66.52 in the Peterborough Half Marathon to get onto the podium in 3rd, congratulations Michael!

Sunday 20th October Dewi Griffiths runs his third fastest ever Marathon in Amsterdam, Netherlands to finish in a time of 2.12.45 finishing 18th against a world class field, congratulations Dewi! Also running was Daniel Morgan coming home in 3.00.13, well done Daniel.

Tuesday 22nd October were the Afan Nedd Tawe Secondary Schools & Colleges 3 x 1100m cross country races at Cwmtawe Community School. Well done to all those who were selected for their school teams, click here for the full results 22.10.24 Cwmtawe Cross Country Relay Results

Saturday 26th October was the Marathon Eryri voted Best British Marathon twice. The demanding and spectacular route which encircles Yr Wyddfa – the highest peak in Wales  has served to makes this an iconic event in the running calendar. It was a successful day for Swansea Harriers with two podium places over the toughest Marathon route in the UK. Michael Kallenberg placed 2nd in the Men coming home in 2.33.40 and Elinor Kirk equalled this 2nd place with a fantastic run to come home in 30.04.41. They were followed home in the Men by 121st Hywel Longman 3.26.19, 630th Richard Sullivan 4.19.42 and 279th Daniel Thomas 4.32.01 and in the Women havin a great run to get into the top 10 was 9th placed Joanna Callan in 3.18.14, 35th Sharon Leech 3.44.36, 44th Llinos Jones 3.49.01, 76th Lois Woodward 4.04.58, 82nd Jennifer Roberts 4.05.49 and 441st Tina Gabb 5.07.41, congratulations all!

Sunday 27th October Joshua Griffiths made the long journey to Taipei, Taiwan where he placed 2nd in the Half Marathon in a time of 70.20 in 28 degree Celsius and in “only”94% humidity, congratulations Josh and have long cool down!

Sunday 27th October saw round 1 of 5 in the West Glamorgan Cross Country League held at Aberavon Beach. This league is for seniors only and last year both Men’s and Womens teams ended the season 2nd in their respective divisions. Over a course approximately 5 miles long. In the Mens race our five scorers were Marc Hobbs who had a great run to win the race, followed home by 5th Matthew Harvey, 19th Patrick Tudor, 22nd Ake Fagereng and 30th Alan Davies, the team are placed 2nd in Division 1. In the Women’s race first home was Maria Kowal in 5th followed home by 14th Kelcy Hooper, 19th Diane Brownhill, 36th Aimee Rayner and 49th Caroline Morgan. The team are now placed 6th in Division 1.
