Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Bristol, Cardiff, Aberystwyth and Valencia Spain.

Saturday 30th November was the John Collins Gwent Cross Country League round 3 of 5 at Blaise Castle, Bristol. Thank you to all the athletes who made the longest away trip of the cross country season, as well as to our team managers, officials and coaches who made the trip too. Here is how they all got on:

U11 Boys had four runners with Jenson Achilleos having a strong run for 5th, followed home by 55th Ellis Davies, 61st Keegan Beale and 79th Billy Cuthberston, the team are 10th in the league.

U11 Girls Molly-Mae McQueen had another great run to finish 3rd, followed home by 17th Ruby Harvey-Flinn, 29th Matilda Warchal, 46th Annabelle James, 55th Sofie Cottrell, 67th Anwen Nicholas-Grey, the team are very well placed in 2nd in the league.

U13 Boys Oliver Cobbold had an awesome run to win, followed home by Isaac Mcadie in 10th, 16th Tomi Jones, 26th Lucas Gibbs, 39th Bo Cuthbertson, 52nd Griff Jones and 59th Jack Collins. The boys match the U11G and are also placed 2nd in the league.

U13 Girls first home in 23rd was Gwennan Gruffydd, followed by 48th Poppy Brannigan, 49th Rosie Jones and 70th Mali Humphreys, the team are placed a great 8th in the league.

U15 Boys first across the line was Jack Griffiths in 9th with Osian Morgan just behind in 11th, followed by 31st Deri Jones. The team are now well placed 6th in the league.

U15 Girls Lyla Jonsson had a great run for 10th, followed by 18th Katie Evans, 33rd Hannah Sullivan, 41st Darcy Gibbon and 46th Aimee Besley, the team are doing great in a podium spot in the league = 3rd.

U17 Men Jack Sullivan had a great run for 8th and Lukas Armstrong 26th, the boys are now 11th in the league.

U17 Women didn’t do too badly again with 1st Millie Gold taking a fine win, just behind 2nd Holly Humphreys followed by 4th Sioned John, 6th Millie Pierce, 7th Ava Davies, 9th Chloe Hartley-Green, 11th Olivia Morgan. Two fixtures to go yet and they are currently placed 1st and 2nd in the league!

Senior/Masters Women Gemma Tutton had a fantastic race to take her first ever win in the league, going one better than her dad who had a few second places a decade or two ago! Gemma was followed home by 12th Bronwen Stratton-Thomas, 15th Lucy Richards, 28th Maria Kowal and 45th Iona Evans making up our scoring five, the team are doing brilliantly 2nd in Division 1.

Senior/Masters Men first home was 53rd Alfie Robinson, 88th Patrick Tudor, 216th Martyn Hughes-Dowdle, 220th Owen Davies and 318th Peter Osborne were our scoring five. the team are 9th in Division 1.

Sunday 1st December was the Welsh Athletics U13 U15 & U17 Indoor Open at Cardiff incorporating the West Wales 200m & 300m/400m Championships. Over 40 Swansea Harriers took part and lots of personal bests were set, our overall top performer in each age group and event, plus any West Wales medal winners were:

U13 Girls: Poppy Brannigan 31.40 200m & 1.31m High Jump and Lily Shubin 4.21m Long Jump.

U13 Boys: Roman James-Haley 1.20m High Jump, Dylan Kivell-Jones 34.27 200m & West Wales SILVER and Dhruv Mummigatti 5.66m Shot.

U15 Girls: Constance Makari 3.89m Long Jump, Caitlyn Anthony & Olivia Kenna both 1.21m High Jump, Luci Li 45.65 300m & West Wales GOLD & 28.21 200m & West Wales SILVER and Freya Birt 9.34m Triple Jump.

U15 Boys: Daniel Odiase 48.97 300m & West Wales GOLD & 27.97 200m & West Wales SILVER, Bo Cuthbertson 1.25m High Jump and 28.45 200m & West Wales BRONZE, Ioan Jones 9.57m Shot and Dylan Davies 8.88m Triple Jump.

U17 Women: Ruby Mills 30.39 200m & 47.60 300m.

U17 Men: Mandikuzda Mupita 10.88m Triple Jump.

Sunday 1st December was the Aberystwyth 10km where our sole runner was Sioned Howells who had a fantastic run to win the Womens race in 37.01, congratulations Sioned!

Sunday 1st December was the Valencia, Spain Marathon where M40 Geraint Williams came home in a time of 2.31.60, followed by Charles Walsh 2.57.44, Helen-Marie Davies 3.19.38, Mike Gleeson 3.24.49, Christine Webb and 3.50.09 Kelly Gipson 4.14.51, well done everyone!
