Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Lee Valley and Cardiff.

Wednesday 1st January saw U13B Tomi Jones and U17W Hannah Jones make the journey to Lee Valley London for the New Year Open Meeting, both came away with personal bests of 67.49 for Hannah in the 400m and Tomi 2.32.33 in the 800m, well done both.

Sunday 5th January was the Welsh Athletics Junior Open Incorporating the West Wales 800m & 1500m Championships, where over 60 of our juniors gained invaluable competition experience. Our overall top performer in each event plus any medallists were as follows:

U13G Ruby Harvey-Flinn 5.59.70 & West Wales GOLD 1500m, Lily Shubin 10.70 60m Hurdles, Poppy Brannigan 2.45.48 & West Wales GOLD 800m & 9.48 60m, Sofia Morgan 3.00.35 & West Wales SILVER 800m and Eva Bezodis 5.39m Shot.

U13B Jenson Achilleos 4.29m Long Jump & 2.38.75 & West Wales GOLD 800m & 8.92 60m, Tomi Jones 5.24.51 & West Wales SILVER 1500m, Evan Maddocks 12.88 60m Hurdles and Rhys Abbott 2.47.40 & West Wales SILVER 800m.

U15G Gwennan Gruffydd 5.56.84 & West Wales BRONZE 1500m, Katriel Udoh 9.87 60m Hurdles & 8.24 60m, Somtochi Emenogu 7.84m Shot, Freya Birt 2.40m Pole Vault, Lyla Jonsson 2.29.43 & West Wales GOLD 800m and Hannah Sullivan 2.44.02 & West Wales SILVER 800m.
