Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Llandudno, Margam Park x 2, Cardiff and Newport.
Tuesday 14th January was the Apollo Teaching Services Afan Nedd Tawe Secondary Schools & Colleges cross country championships at Margam Park. Almost 700 pupils finished the races in wet weather and tough underfoot conditions. Well done to all those who ran and thank you to the volunteers from the club who helped out too. Swansea Harriers athletes finishing in the top 12 places and gaining selection for the county team were:
Year 7 Girls: 3rd Poppy Brannagan & 6th Sofia Morgan.
Year 7 Boys: 1st Tomi Jones, 11th Thomas Morgan & 12th Jack Collins.
Year 8&9 Girls: 1st Lyla Jonsson, 4th Hannah Sullivan, 5th Rosie Jones, 6th Darcy Gibbon, 7th Zoe Thompson & 8th Gwennan Gruffydd.
Year 8&9 Boys: 1st Oliver Cobbold, 2nd Jack Griffiths, 6th Isaac Mcadie, 9th Lucas Gibbs, 11th Bo Cuthbertson & 12th Tomos Pugh.
Year 10 to 14 Girls: 1st Holly Humphreys, 2nd Libby Hale, 3rd Millie Pierce, 4th Chloe Hartley-Green, 7th Hannah Jones, 8th Sienna Hurley, 9th Anna Williams, 10th Tabitha Ventress-Brett & 11th Imogen Mcadie.
Year 10 to 14 Boys: 2nd Jack Sullivan, 3rd Osian Morgan & 11th Deri Jones.

Saturday 18th January Joshua Griffiths had a fantastic run to win the Twin Piers 10km race in 31.58 at Llandudno, congratulations Josh!
Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th January were the Welsh Senior & U17 Indoor Athletics Championships at Cardiff. There was another great entry form the club which was pleasing to see. Very well done to all those who ran, jumped and threw over the weekend setting plenty of personal bests too. Special congratulations to all our medal winners too:

Sunday 19th January was round 3 of 5 in the West Glamorgan Cross Country League for Seniors only, at Margam Park, held over a different multi terrain route to the schools championships a few days earlier. In the Men’s race Patrick Tudor came home first for us in 10th place followed by 19th Paul Flynn, 27th Martyn Hughes-Dowdle, 32nd Alan Davies and 34th Owen Davies who made our scoring 5 Men. In the Women’s race Kristy Smith had a great run for 4th, followed by 6th Maria Kowal, 13th Caitlin Gwyther, 53rd Angela Delaney and 85th Sian Phillips. Well done to everyone who ran, we await the league tables in the next few days.
Sunday 19th January was the Lliswerry 8 Mile Road Race at Newport, held over a flat fast course in its 35th year. Swansea Harriers had just the one finisher, but Jonathan Butler had a fantastic run for 2nd place crossing the line in 40.20, congratulations Jonathan!
