Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Sheffield x 2, Loughborough, Margam and Leeds.

Wednesday 5th February new member SM Kyle Turner runs 2.09.89 for 800m at Sheffield, well done Kyle!

Friday 7th February SW Carys Jones finishes 6th with 3.71m in the Pole Vault at Loughborough, well done Carys!

Saturday 8th February was the John Collins Gwent Cross Country League round 4 of 5 for our Juniors & Seniors at Margam Park. First and foremost thank you to all the volunteers who spent 6 hours Friday and another 8 hours Saturday setting up, marshalling car parks and the course, as well as helping with the take down, and to Brian Fox the meeting manager for all the unseen paperwork in the background to make the event possible. Well done to everyone who ran over another tough underfoot and undulating course for the club. Our scoring four juniors and five seniors for the club were as follows:

U11G saw another fantastic win for Molly-Mae Mcqueen, followed home by 18th Ruby Harvey-Flinn, 30th Matilda Warchal & 31st Sienna Wooliscroft. The team are doing very well indeed, placed 2nd in the league.

U11B saw Jenson Achilleos cross the line in a great 5th, followed by 50th Max Rankin, 54th Ellis Davies & 59th Charlie Reed. The team are now 11th in the league.

U13G home first was 16th Zoe Thompson, followed by 18th Gwennan Gruffydd, 22nd Emily Evans-Williams & 23rd Rosie Jones. The team now sit 8th in the league.

U13B saw our second win of the day with Oliver Cobbold taking the victory, followed home by 10th Isaac Mcadie, 24th Lucas Gibbs & 29th Bo Cuthbertson. The team are doing very well placed 3rd in the league.

U15G saw Lyla Jonsson home in 10th, then it was 14th Katie Evans, 31st Darcy Gibbon & 36th Joely Griffiths. The team are still doing extremely well 2nd in the league.

U15B had two finishers with Osian Morgan having a great run for 4th and 12th Jack Griffiths. The team are a solid 5th in the league.

U17W saw a one two on the podium for 1st Holly Humphreys and 2nd Millie Pierce, just behind was 4th Chloe Hartley-Green and 16th Anna Williams and our first scorer for the B team 17th Imogen Mcadie. Amazingly our A and B teams are still 1st and 2nd in the league!

U17M like the U15B was an incomplete team with 2 finishers who were 10th Jack Sullivan and 30th Oscar Radka. The team are 11th in the league.

U20M No runners.

U20W No runners.

Senior/Masters Men: 57th Patrick Tudor, 73rd Daniel Morgan, 96th Ake Fagerang, 124th Martyn Hughes-Dowdle & 141st Owen Davies. The team lies 9th in Division 1.

Senior/Masters Women/Masters Men 65+ the Women’s team was incomplete with just two runners 23rd Maria Kowal and 25th Iona Evans, the team slip to 5th in the league. However there was a fantastic win for M65 Ifan Lloyd and not far behind M70 Alan Davies in 2nd.

Saturday 8th February was round 4 of 5 in the British Cross Challenge at Leeds incorporating the U17, U20, U23, and Senior age groups Celtic Home Nations Cross Country International. Representing Wales were Libby Hale who had another superb run to finish 9th in the U17W, Mille Gold ran very well too for 14th in the U20W race and SM Joshua Griffiths who had a great run for 29th. Very many congratulations to all three on much deserved international vests.

Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th February was the England U15 U17 & U20 open indoor championships at Sheffield. There are tough qualification standards to enter this championships against the top juniors in the UK, and it was pleasing to see six Swansea Harriers in action amongst them. U17W Olivia Morgan was 6th in the 1500m final with 4.43.53, U17M Jeremy Young and Ruairi Harris both made it to the semi final of the 60m recording times of 7.14 & 7.22 respectively, Jeremy also placed 11th in the Long Jump with 6.01m; U20M Jenson Morris was 5th in his 60m heat with 7.09. U20M Charlie Shuall placed 4th in Pole Vault with 4.35m and U20M Harry Newton was 9th in same event with 4.05m. Well done everyone!
