Results Round Up
This week we have our first all time club record of 2025 and results to round up for you from, Merthyr, Deeside, Swansea, Nuneaton, Gorseinon, Swindon, Prague Czechia, Berlin Germany, Bristol & Brighton.
Sunday 30th March was the annual San Domenico 20 Mile & 10 Mile Races at Merthyr Tydfil. In the 10 Mile race Sam Joseph had a fantastic run to cross the line in 2nd place in 57.51, In the Womens 10 Mile Caroline Morgan was 13th in 1.22.11 and Angela Delaney 17th in 1.26.17. In the 20 Mile race Dewi Griffiths had a very comfortable win crossing the line in 1.41.14 sixteen and a half minutes ahead of the 2nd placed athlete to win the Mens! Ifan Lloyd was 8th in 2.09.44 and 16th Steven Taylor in 2.16.31, Sioned Howells won the Womens race in a super fast 2.06.01. Well done everyone!
Friday 4th April was the North Wales Open Meeting at Deeside where SM Jacob Edghill won the Long Jump with a best of 6.21m, well done Jacob!
Saturday 5th April was the Neal Merry Swansea Harriers Open Meeting at home in Swansea, we had 450 entries across all age groups and events, and unlike last year the weather was kind! First and foremost our sincere thanks to all the volunteers and Neal Merry who made the event possible, it was a huge undertaking to try and find 70 volunteers, if anyone would like to go on a track judging, timekeeping or field judging course to enable us to continue to host events please do get in touch, and we will explain the process of how to become an official. With almost 200 athletes from the club competing it would be a very long post to mention all performances, we hope all the athletes enjoyed getting competition experience, seasons bests and personal bests. Saturday 5th April Paul Llewellyn runs a 92.11 in the Prague, Czechia Half Marathon, he was followed home by Tori Barry in 94.59 and Caroline Morgan in 1.46.41, well done all!
Sunday 6th April new club signing Michael Jenkins got off to the perfect start as a member of Swansea Harriers, breaking our all time Senior Mens club record for 2kg discus with a throw of 55.44m at Nuneaton, for good measure the old record was held by his coach Ryan! Michael is also a very successful para athlete who is the F38 European shot put and discus record holder. Welcome aboard Michael and congratulations on the record
Sunday 6th April was the Gorseinon 10km. where our top 5 Men & Women home were; there was another victory for Dewi Griffiths coming home in a fast time of 29.04, followed home by 2nd Jonathan Butler 32.54, 4th Matthew Verran 32.56, 22nd Drew Bartle 38.47 and 32nd Eli Johnson 39.37. In the Women Emma Joseph crossed the line in an excellent 4th 41.51, followed by 5th Chloe Hartley-Green 42.34, 8th Kelcy Hooper 44.09, 16th Audrey Alies 46.28 and 52nd Ella Davies 53.48. Well done everyone!
Sunday 6th April was the Swindon Harriers Open Meeting where SW Gwennan Lewis threw 23.85m in the Discus and 10.22m in the Shot and M70 Chris Pruski threw 29.49m in the 600g Javelin, well done both!
Sunday 6th April was the Bristol Track Club 5K & 3km, despite the event being called the track club, these are actually road races where in the elite 5km Dafydd Jones had a superb run to cross the line in 3rd with a super fast time of 14.10. Making up our fastest 5 Men & Women across the races were Edward Davies 15.19, Alfie Robinson 16.02, William Ralston 16.12 and Gair Mcadie 19.47. Women: Bronwen Startton-Thomas 18.15, Maria Kowal 19.00, Iona Evans 19.19, Mai Davies 19.43 and Helen-Marie Davies 20.46. In the Junior 3km we had 3 boys running, with Oliver Cobbold having a great run for 1st in 9.38, Isaac Mcadie 6th in 10.20 and Tomi Jones 7th in 10.31. Sunday 6th April SW Emily Marchant steps onto the podium at the Brighton Marathon for 3rd in a time of 2.55.41, despite it being her hen night the evening before and just having 4 hours sleep!
Sunday 6th April Tom Morris runs in the Berlin Germany crossing the line in 94.35, well done Tom!
