Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from, Sutton Park, Brussels, Belgium, Newport and Yate.
Saturday 12th April saw Swansea Harriers Womens team qualify and enter another very strong team at the English National 6 Stage Road Relays at Sutton Park in Birmingham. For the first time all six athletes the same length 5.08km legs rather than alternating long and short legs. Our Womens team have a rich history at this event against the very best road running clubs in the UK having placed 2nd in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2017 and 3rd in 2011 & 2013. This year saw them put in another a very respectable performance to finish in 7th. the super six in running order were; Megan Williams 18.59, Gemma Tutton 18.25, Hannah Kinane 18.04, Caryl Edwards 18.05, Megan Mitchell 20.18 & Sioned Howells 18.28. Sunday 13th April saw Verity Ockenden in the European 10km, Half & Full Marathon Road Running Championships in Leuven, Brussels, Belgium, representing the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team against the very best endurance runners in all of Europe. Verity placed 11th with 32:11 and was the first Britain home over what was a tough undulating course, well done Verity that was amazing!
Sunday 13th April was the Newport Half & Full Marathons & 10km. Highlights in each of the three races were:
10km Men 8th Matthew Verran 32.09, 9th Jonathan Butler 32.14 and 68th Andrew Cleverley 36.06.
10km Women 15th Maria Kowal 39.39.
Half Marathon Men 68th Mike Gleeson 1.28.14 and 217th Nicholas De Vos 1.40.08.
Half Marathon Women Kate Roberts 1.21.27 had a fantastic run for 3rd!!
Marathon Men 48th Craig Jones 2.44.44, 247th Alex John 2.58.17 and 494th Daniel Morgan 3.12.25 and 498th Joe Tucker 3.12.41.

Sunday 13th April was the Sprints & Hurdles Open Meeting at a wet and windy Yate where we had two athletes in action, U13G Poppy Brannigan ran 13.26 in the 70m Hurdles & 11.18 in the 75m & 22.20 in the 150m for the win and SM Eli Onyewu ran 34.81 in the 300m for the win, well done both!
