Results Round Up
This week we have plenty of results to round up for you from Arezzo Italy, Manchester, Cardiff, Swansea & Portsmouth.
Back on Sunday 26th September club superstar Verity Ockenden ran a scintillating 72.76 for the Half Marathon in Arezzo, Italy taking her to 9th in the UK rankings to date, well done Verity!
Sunday 10th October was the Manchester Marathon where we had the four finishers; Michael Bryant in 2:48:06; Patrick Tudor in 3:05:12 a lifetime best; Tom Bacon in 3:27:36 also a lifetime best and Brian Stevendale in 3:48:07, very well done to them all!
Saturday 16th October was round 1 of 5 in the Gwent Cross Country League incorporating the first round of the British Cross Challenge at Cardiff. This was our first chance in almost two years to race as a team in cross country, which had been sorely missed, our thanks to all the coaches, team mangers and athletes who contributed to what was a very successful day individually and team wise, here is how they all got on:
U11B: 17th Isaac Mcadie; 20th Oliver Hale; 36th Ellis Bennett and 52nd Harry Davies, placing the team 6th in the league.
U11G: having a great run for 2nd was Georgie Bo-Davies, equally so was 3rd Taylor Shelmerdine; followed by 15th Hannah Sullivan; 22nd Mia Rabaiotti; 26th Hannah Hartley-Green and 31st Luisa Rabaiotti, placing the team top of the league table, well done girls!
U13B: 42nd Osian Morgan and 60th Jack Sullivan, placing the team 21st in the league.
U13G: saw a fantastic win for Libby Hale, also having great runs to place in the top ten were 5th Chloe Hartley-Green and 7th Millie Pierce, followed by 55th Imogen Mcadie; 72nd Tabitha Ventress-Brett; 74th Ruby Hirst; 92nd Millie Bennett and 99th Faith Edwards, just like the U11G are now sitting top of the league!!
U15B: 40th Steffan Higgins and 45th Gavin Alexander, placing the team 15th in the league.
U15G: Ava Davies had a great run for 6th followed home by 15th Sophie Hartley-Green; 49th Matilda Topliss; 54th Anna Williams and 59th Natalie Coughlan, placing the team 7th in the league.
U17M: Aled Tumelty had a great run for 5th, followed home by 12th Tom Attwood; 16th Ben Sullivan; 18th Morgan Willis; 31st Matthew Lewis and 33rd Joshua Pritchard, the team are a superb 2nd in the league!
U17W: Mai Davies was another who had a great run for 4th; followed home by 12th Ella Davies; 22nd Bethan Adams and 25th Daisy Anderson, the team are yet another that sit in a podium position of 3rd in the league!
U20M: No Runners.
U20W: there were two top ten placings for 7th Bronwen Stratton-Thomas and 9th Sophia Harrison.
Senior/Masters Men: it was great to see such a large turnout from our senior runners, first home in 12th was Morgan Davies, followed across the line by 49th Matthew Verran; 61st Jack Turner; 89th Daniel Morgan; 110th Alex John; 134th Patrick Tudor; 156th Steve Smith; 161st Mike Gleeson; 188th Owen Davies, 245th Charles Walsh; 255th Gair Mcadie; 281st Simon Merrick; 287th Michael Williams and Anthony Clements, the team are mid table in 7th in Divison 1.
Senior/Masters Women: had a good turnout too, having a great run for 10th was Katrin Reischmann; 30th Cerys Jones; 60th Sian Kirk; 117th Isobel Dawson; 126th Jenny Mcadie; 179th Nina Brocklebank; 211th Tina Gabb, the team are 9th in Division 1.

Sunday 17th October saw Verity Ockenden in action again, this time picking up a fantastic 3rd place in the Great South Run 10 Mile at Portsmouth, as ever Verity recorded another very, very quick time of 54.07, well done Verity!
Sunday 17th October was the Swansea Half Marathon which had an extra early start time of 8am this year! In ideal conditions the club was well represented with plenty of lifetime bests! Our top ten men home were; having a great run for 6th Matthew Rees in 1:12:55; closely followed by 9th Blair McWhirter in 1:13:43 a lifetime best; 14th Daniel Otteson in 1:16:05 a lifetime best; 16th Sam Joseph in 1:16:33 a lifetime best; 20th Ifan Lloyd in 1:17:07 a lifetime best; 26th John Moran in 1:19:04; 83rd Ben Curtin in 1:28:18 a lifetime best; 85th Renatas Plytnikas in 1:28:19; 134th Simon Coombes in 1:31:58 a lifetime best and 136th Paul Llewellyn in 1:32:00. We had just the four Women finishers: just missing out on a podium place was 4th Emily Marchant in 1:22:06 a lifetime best; Julie Hartley-Green in 1:38:03 a lifetime best; Emma Baxter in 1:43:01; Tina Gabb in 1:55:15 a lifetime best. Very well done to them all on such a great set of results.
