Results Round Up
This week we finally have some domestic results as well as other further afield to round up for you from Sheffield, Manchester, Stockholm SWEDEN, Belfast NORTHERN IRELAND, Cardiff & Beachley.
Wednesday 19th January in Stockholm SWEDEN U17W Hannah Kinane runs 61.16 for 400m and 4.47.31 for 1500m, well done Hannah, and we look forward to seeing you over here with the rest of the U17W team sometime in 2022.
Saturday 22nd January saw SW Verity Ockenden up against some very impressive opposition have a great run to finish 3rd over 3000m in 8.51.17 in World Indoor Tour at Manchester Regional Arena, well done Verity!
Saturday 22nd January saw U17 Mai Davies & SW Megan Carter-Davies in Belfast, Northern Ireland gain two much deserved Welsh International vests in the World Athletics Northern Ireland Cross Country International incorporating the British Cross Challenge. Against top class opposition Mai helped the U17W team to an impressive GOLD placing 21st, Megan had a great run too placing 29th and helping her team to BRONZE, well done both on the vests and such a great set of results.
Saturday 22nd January was the Sheffield Open Meeting where SM Max Heavans runs 7.13 for 60m and SM Ben Paris a 22.12 for 200m, well done both!
Sunday 23rd January saw the speedway 10km road race at Beachley where six of our top road runners were in action in a high quality field, led home by SM Joshua Griffiths in yet another sub 30 clocking of 29.14 stepping onto the podium in 2nd!, followed by 13th SM Jonathan Hopkins 30.21;27th SM Jonathan Butler 31.32 and a PB!; 32nd U20M Finley Hines 31.51 and a PB!; 67th M40 Matthew Harvey 32.50 and 130th M35 Daniel Newton 34.39 & a PB too! Well done to them all on such a great set of results.
Sunday 23rd January saw the Cardiff Metropolitan University Non Thomas Indoor Athletics Open Meeting where the club was well represented by U17M William Trott who won the Pole Vault with a 4.40m leap; SW Jodi Beynon recorded a 5.20m Long Jump & 11.03m Shot; SW Hannah Brier won the 60m in a very quick 7.34 her 2nd fastest ever time, followed by 3rd Alicia Samuel in 7.60; U20M Jacob Dowling ran 8.76 for 60m and SW Georgina Annett 5.19.72 over 1500m, well done all!
