Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Cardiff, Birmingham, Swansea, Weymouth and Houston USA.

Sunday 13th March was the indoor Vault Cardiff match where Swansea Harriers were well represented, where the following heights were achieved:

Men: U20M William Trott 4.21m; SM Iwan Slade 3.61m; SM Sam Fenwick 3.51m; U17M Harry Newton 3.81m; U17M Charlie Shuall 3.11m; U15B Oliver Philpott 2.91m; U17M Louis Shuall 2.31m and U13B Alfie Philpott 1.61m.

Women: SW Carys Jones 3.56m; U20W Millie Carter 3.41m; U17W Amy Beynon 3.01m; U15G Seren Anderson-James 2.41m; U15G Ruby Campion 1.81m and U13G Georgie Bo Davies 1.71m.

Thursday 17th March SM Steffan Jones runs 49.90 over 400m outdoors in Houston, USA, well done Steffan!

Saturday 19th March saw SM Luca Cortallese run a fast 15.59.40 for 5000m in Birmingham, well done Luca!

Saturday 19th March saw the club host the 5th and final fixture of the John Collins Gwent Cross Country League at Singleton Park. There were some minor challenges in getting the event on and our sincere thanks goes to club trustees Brian Fox & Nigel Jones in making it happen, also to all the volunteers involved in course set up, marshaling and take down, it couldn’t happen without you! Here is how everyone got on and where all our teams ended up in the league by the conclusion of the season.

U11B: 15th Isaac Mcadie; 32nd Bo Cuthbertson; 33rd Ellis Bennett; 38th Morgan Bond & 39th Edward Lyle-Williams. The team were 5th overall.

U11G: saw a fantastic 1st place for Ella Drew followed home by; 24th Mia Rabaiotti; 33rd Luisa Rabaiotti; 34th Megan Pyke & 46th Rutendo Chasweka. The team did brilliantly to end the season in 2nd!

U13B: 24th Daniel Board; 32nd Sam Rees; 40th Osian Morgan & 42nd Deri Jones. The team were 19th overall.

U13G: 13th Lola Cannon; 40th Imogen Mcadie & 50th Tabitha Ventress-Brett. The team did really well to finish the season in 3rd.

U15B: 23rd Steffan Higgins; 28th Gavin Alexander; 30th Sami White & 40th Dylan Curr. The team were 12th overall.

U15G: 6th Sophie Hartley-Green; 22nd Matilda Topliss; 27th Natalie Coughlan; 30th Anna Williams & 39th Pheobe Holt. The team just missed out on a podium spot placing 4th overall.

U17M: 5th Ben Sullivan & 14th Joshua Pritchard. The team were a fantastic 2nd by season end!

U17W: No runners, but the team were still 6th by season end.

U20M: No runners & no league placing.

U20W: Sophia Harrison had a superb run for 2nd and the team placed a brilliant 3rd at season end.

SM: Angus Maclean had a superb run for 3rd followed home by; 44th Daniel Newton; 48th Ifan Lloyd; 128th Owen Davies; 154th Patrick Tudor; 179th Mark White; 181st Michael Williams; 200th Rabab Rabab and 224th Simon Merrick. The team ended the season in mid table 9th in division 1.

SW: 4th Kate Roberts; 15th Carys Jones; 59th Graciela Diaz de la Fuente; 77th Isobel Dawson; 82nd Julie Hartley-Green; 85th Jenny Mcadie; 124th Tina Gabb and 129th Nina Brocklebank. Matching the Senior Men our womens team also ended the season in mid table 9th in division 1!
