Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Port Talbot, Coral Gables & Houston USA, Pembrey and Cardiff:
Saturday 19th March in the Hoka 10km at Port Talbot, two of our juniors stepped onto the podium having great runs with 2nd placed U17M Thomas Attwood 40.28 and U20M Iwan White in 3rd 40.37, congratulations both!
Saturday 26th March was the 50th British Schools U15 & U17 Cross Country International held at Pembrey Country Park. Held in hot and sunny conditions over a tough course it was fantastic to see four Swansea Harriers representing the Welsh Schools Athletics Association, gaining invaluable experience against the very best juniors in the UK. Helping the junior girls to a fantastic team SILVER were 12th Libby Hale and 22nd Millie Pierce. Junior Girl Ava Davies also had a great run for team BRONZE in the mixed 4 x 1500m relay, and Middle Boy Morgan Willis was 30th in his race. Very many congratulations to all four on such a great set of results. Preceding the main races was a primary open race where we had four U11G entered who had a great day too coming away with team GOLD courtesy of a fine win from Georgie Bo Davies followed home by 3rd Ella Drew; 4th Taylor Shelmerdine & 5th Lily Stabler.
Saturday 26th March SM Steffan Jones runs 22.39 for 200m in Coral Gables, Florida USA, well done Steffan!
Saturday 26th March U20W Macey Morris runs 25.09 for 200m in Houston, Texas, USA, well done Macey!
Sunday 27th March was the Cardiff Half Marathon also in held in sunny and hot weather, where the club was very well represented in a massive field of 11,639 finishers. Our first runner home having an awesome run in 14th to also win the BRONZE medal in the Welsh Championships which were incorporated into the half marathon was Daniel Rothwell in a time of 1.07.16, well done Daniel! In the Men he was followed home by 21st Jonathan Butler 1.09.29; 28th Blair McWhirter 1.10.02; 41st Liam Lloyd 1.12.10; 44th Angus Maclean 1.12.21; 45th William Munday 1.14.34; 70th Craig Jones 1.14.54; 94th Sam Joseph 1.16.27; 114th & 1st M60 Ifan Lloyd 1.17.08; 104th Michael Bryant 1.16.43; 216th Daniel Otteson 1.23.40; 22nd Charles Walsh 1.23.48; 301st Owen Davies 1.27.43; 348th Paul Llewellyn 1.29.13; 377th Geoff Robinson 1.30.31; 485th Robert Hughes 1.37.57; 543rd Tom Bacon 1.45.11; 1077th Ian Sparks 1.39.02; 2323rd Ashley Ramsden 1.48.38; 3588th Christopher Jones 2.02.50 and 6099th Owen Davies 2.44.27.
In the womens positions first home for the club was 14th Sioned Howells in 1.22.08, followed home by 39th Helen-Marie Davies 1.31.07; 46th Luticia Thomas 1.34.01; 53rd Llinos Jones 1.39.38; 75th Hannah Munday 1.33.05; 100th Emma Baxter 1.36.08; 106th Sian George 1.36.41 and 237th Penny Kennedy 1.46.27.
