Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Swansea, Cardiff, Horspath & Exeter including another two all time club records!

Wednesday 20th July was the Welsh Masters League at home in Swansea for athletes aged over 35 and where the age groups go up in 5 year age brackets. It was great to see such a well run event with plenty of officials too. Highlights included our overall top male and female performer in each events regardless of age group as follows:

Men: The versatile M50 Mike Gleeson was our top performer in three events 29.0 200m & 2.27.9 800m & 10.32.4 3000m and M50 Peter Roberts 34.99m Discus & 31.42m Hammer.

Women: W50 Sharon Leech 3.01.1 800m; W40 Lois Woodward 12.35.0 3000m; W75 Daphne Marler 3.65m Triple Jump and W65 Renate Prells 17.30m Discus & 26.74m Hammer.

Wednesday 20th July was the Run With The Wind Open meeting at Cardiff where our overall top performer in each event and age group were as follows:

SW Stefani Karekla 17.07 100m Hurdles & 27.72 200m; SM Jack Houghton 15.75 110m Hurdles; SM Steffan Jones 11.07 100m & 22.25 200m; U17M Marek Warzocha 11.78 100m & 23.55 200m and U20M Joseph Beresford 12.10 100m & 23.91 200m.

Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th July was the Southern England Outdoor All Ages Combined Events Championships at Horspath where we had the two competitors. It turnout out to be a very successful day for U15G Matilda Quick who broke her own all time club record in the Pentathlon amassing a total of 2980 points courtesy of a 12.04 75m Hurdles, 1.57m High Jump, 4.62m Long Jump, 11.21m Shot & 2.42.78 800m, well done Matilda and on finishing 3rd Overall. U17W Bethan Holley finished 6th overall in the Heptathlon amassing 3407 points from a 13.47m Javelin, 8.58m Shot, 4.96m Long Jump, 1.49m High Jump, 13.37 80m Hurdles, 29.88 200m & 2.44.81 800m, well done Bethan!

Sunday 24th July SM Femi Akinbobola runs a 49.59 for 400m at Exeter, well done Femi!

Tuesday 26th July U15G Libby Hale once again broke her own all time club record for 800m recording a time of 2.13.66 at Exeter, well done Libby!
